My Journey to a Healthy Lifestyle

Happy New Year! Time to get serious and make 2007 the year that I'm in the best shape of my life!! I have about 18 pounds to lose and am very motivated. I want to have it gone definitely by April, but hopefully way before then!

I never gained the freshman 15 and graduated college thinner than I started. Then...I fell in love, moved in with my boyfriend, got married and 15 pounds later, I'm blissfully happy...except for the extra baggage!

Hey there! A fellow hoosier - nice to see! I'm from Kokomo myself. Love the colts photo! hee hee
Being happy kills a waistline doesn't it! Getting married and adding on the pounds seems to come hand in hand. You are beautiful and sound dedicated. Keep on it and you'll accomplish your goals girl!
Take care - Amanda

Hi :). Well thanks for adding me :). I'm really happy that you are seeing results. I wish I could say the same! But I just signed up here, and I have to be honest, I have been getting discouraged SO easy and it doesn’t help me stay on track too well. I've been staying SOMEWHAT on track when it comes to my calories MOST days, but I haven’t been drinking all the water I should and when it comes to the calories I eat, they may be low calorie, but I cant say they are all healthy. I'm a carb ADICT :). I am learning that I really have to try something new with these last 10lbs, and I haven’t seemed to find what it is yet :(. Any ideas? What type of food and calories have you been eating? About me and my husband, I am doing good :). I have learned and UNLEARNED a LOT in my year and 1/2 of marriage. I'll be honest I thought I had it all figured out cause I was really independent when I came into the marriage and I knew how to make my own decisions, which I thought was a strong point of mine. Now though, in a marriage, I am learning it can be one of my weaknesses. I have found out that as many times as I heard the clique that the two of us were becoming one, I don’t guess I ever really got the gravity of what that meant. Now with experience I am finding that "sharing your life with someone else" is less like each of you sharing your lives but more like merging one life together into one and fighting over it sometimes, lol. I have found that after having soul control over my own life for so long, the hardest thing to adjust to is having to share the steering wheel and not getting frustrated or angry because problems are twice as hard to fix when you have 2 people arguing about how to do it! haha. But, of all the things I have learned it is that it is sacred, and that it is WORTH the work :). Bless you in YOUR marriage :). Keep me posted on your progress because you encourage me.

Hi! I added you as one of my friends! Hope that is ok! You looked like you had similar goals as me and I think it is always nice to have support! I am getting married in Sept. so I am really working hard to lose 20 pounds by then. I would actually like to lose 20 pounds by June so I look good in a bikini again for summer! Plus we have about 5 wedding to attend and I would love to be 20 pounds lighter! Good luck with your weight loss and if you need someone to vent to or get advice from I am here and will try to give you any help I can! Take care:)
