After a gap of over 2 years, I'm back on SP. Weight was at an all-time high of 245lbs which just tipped me over into the 'morbidly obese' bracket and what really kicked me into action was my blood pressure shooting up at the same time my IBS ramped up the action.

Decided enough was enough and looked around for a solution. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet seems to be the only thing that claims to potentially sort out the root cause of IBS rather than dealing with the symptoms. I really don't want to spend the rest of my life taking medication just so I don't feel so bad. I want to get better!

It's horrendously restrictive to start with and after 10 days I got it wrong and mucked it up so I'm back to square one :-(

However......... during those 10 days I felt better than I have done in a long while, so something tells me this is worth sticking with, even if it IS a struggle (and it will be, I can tell you). Adding one food in every 4 days is going to drive me NUTS (and no they aren't allowed yet!)

And believe it or not, I am struggling not to lose weight too fast - I don't want to lose over a pound a day :-/ I want to lose at a nice steady rate my body can adjust to, but I need to find ways to make my limited range of foods more interesting, so I eat more (not a problem I've usually had......)

Weight loss goal: 160lbs - still leaves me overweight, but only by a fraction (when I went lower than this before, I looked ill!)

Mini goals:

*225lbs - 20lbs lost - ACHIEVED 8/8/13

* 220.5lbs - 10% body weight lost - ACHIEVED 22/8/13

*210lbs - obese rather than severely obese - ACHIEVED 14/11/13

Thanks. I haven't been too good. Lots going on and I don't feel like blogging cause it makes me sound like a misery! I am not. Also you know I find it hard to keep finding stuff to say PLUS I am not concentrating as much as I should so weight loss has plateaued - all my own fault. You just take care and let's both get through the next week.

By the by hope you aren't affected by all these storms and high winds.
