My name is Kris, a twenty-something who woke up one day, looked in the mirror and said, "Holy smokes.... when did that happen?!" Caught up in the daily race, in getting my degree, working, pleasing my family 800 miles away and my inlaws in the area, cooking for the love of my life (who can eat anything and everything he wants and not gain a pound), taking care of my dogs and trying to teach them not to destroy the house and everything else that comes with a normal life, somehow I had forgotten ...
My name is Kris, a twenty-something who woke up one day, looked in the mirror and said, "Holy smokes.... when did that happen?!" Caught up in the daily race, in getting my degree, working, pleasing my family 800 miles away and my inlaws in the area, cooking for the love of my life (who can eat anything and everything he wants and not gain a pound), taking care of my dogs and trying to teach them not to destroy the house and everything else that comes with a normal life, somehow I had forgotten myself, and my health. Scared to death I stepped on the scale and saw it read 180. Never in my life had I been this heavy, it was time for a change. So here I am , setting goals, holding myself to a higher standard, and just.... Running with it, life, work, love, and weight loss.

My Goals:
Smile- I am a lucky lady and need to thank God for all my blessings, stop complaining, and take a moment to smile.

Read- I love to read and do so many other things, I need to remember those things that I love to do... and do them, without the company of a snack!

Love- love my boyfriend without resenting him for what he can eat, understand the differences between us, and love him for them.

TV- limit the time in front of the TV.... would be able to do so many more things if so much of my precious time was not consumed by the TV. Lets start conservative and say only 10 hours per week.

Food- allow myself small splurges, but only on things that are easy to control the portion- ie, two Milano cookies instead of a slice of cake (slice could be paper thin or a quarter of the cake!)

Water- drink 8 oz of water before eating to determine if I really am hungry.

Fruit and Veggies- have a full serving of one before eating to give myself time to

My Program:
Reasonable weight loss in a reasonable time frame.

Increase water, fruits and vegetables, activity and attitude.

Decrease TV, junk food, anxiety and stress.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I will try to limit my sampling when I bake this week..it's going to be hard. Good luck with your goals, I know you can do it, just stay consistent and you will see results in no time!

Thanks for the positive comment on my page. I agree that I'm not a failure.... however, I did fail my challenge... BUT I've started it again. I haven't given up.

Hey Kris.. I am so thankful for your comment to my page! The truth is, yes, even life is like that! We must realize when things come we feel are challenging, we can always see it as opportunity for growth to prove what we're really made of so we can go to the next level in our journey! Thanks for your cool words of encouragement, however when i saw that you are "KindredRunner" I thought "Runner" I have wanted to try running awhile but I know it can be so harmful on the body waste down when you do it so long!
