Female runner who likes to lift heavy weights

I am kind of a contradiction in terms...I am thriving to become a female power lifter who runs like the wind! The contradiction? Lifters need to bulk and have massive muscle tone while runners tend to try to have as little weight as possible so that their speeds are faster. ME? I plan to do both!!

My Goals:
Reasons I want to get healthier:
~To NOT become diabetic
~Have more energy to do things
~To NOT have issues with depression
~To feel good about myself


My Program:
*Strength training 5-6 times (or more!) a week. I am currently really into power lifting and hope to keep progessing on my deadlift PR
*Cardio for 30 mins or more after ST
*I don't track what I eat BUT I do choose healthy options and pay attention to my body - when I feel full I stop!

Personal Information:
I live in a small town in Southwest lower Michigan. Being that I do live in Michigan, about 1/2-3/4 of the year is just WAY too cold for me to be outside doing anything, so I invested in a treadmill! I have 2 daughters & I also have 1 grandson & 1 granddaughter! My personal living situation is kinda complicated right now...working on a way out of THAT! I am an avid animal lover & have a St. Bernard mixed dog named Bear...I consider him my third child! :)

Other Information:
One of my downfalls with keeping up w/my weight loss plan is that I LOVE to play Facebook games! I recently got hooked on Candy Crush, Pet Rescue Saga & Bingo Blitz! Not exactly the most rewarding past time physically but fun! I also love to read, listen to music, & there are a few shows on TV that I just can't stand to miss (gotta lvoe DVR's)!

Did 40 minutes yesterday. Time will get better as I get used to it.

Thank you for adding me as a friend... Let's get the party started! I ran a 5K and a 10K once. I did better on the 5K and I am out of shape again or still and worst than I was when I did the 5K... emoticon
