Hello All,

Growing up I was always thin. I was the girl that everyone told to eat a cheeseburger or somthing. I got married when I was 19, had a baby and had all the weight that came along with it. I quickly lost it...but not the best way. I did the starvation thing rather then eating properly and exercising. I was happy at the time because it came off fast and kept my husband at the time off my back and kept him from making comments like...If you stay fat I'm going to tie you to the car and make sure you run it off. Well, after a time he and I divorced. I then didn't have to worry about his thoughts on my body..I could eat what I wanted and be any size with out fear of what he would say or do. I went up in weight rather fast. I don't think I realized how heavy or how bad I looked for a long time. I realized it when I had taken my kids to Oklahoma to see their great grandmother. I was fishing in their man made pond and there was a picture taken of me. My daughters grandmother sent the pictures and when I saw it I thought...oh my God...I look pregnant...I was mortified. So I did the usual thing I always did...lost it the unhealthy way. I yoyo'd back and forth for a long time. It was a physical roller coaster as well as an emotional rollercoaster. Until I found SparkPeople I was still on that rollercoaster. Now, I know what I need to do to keep myself thin in a healthy way. My family has a history of Type II far I've not been diagnosed but I think as long as I eat healthy and keep my weight down I just may not ever be diagnosed...or if I am..then I just may be able to control it with proper nutrition and not have it be as tough as if I weren't being healthy and having to change my ways suddenly because of health issues.

So, thats it in a nutshell..what lead me to SP...and all I can say is "Thank God I'm here"

My Goals:
My goal is to go from 146.8 lbs to 130 lbs...and lose some inches so that I can look good AND feel good about myself!!

My Program:
I'm trying to follow the guidelines that the food tracker gives on SP and I am keeping track of my exercise. I'm remembering to keep positive when I mess up after all it is a new day tomorrow.

Personal Information:
I'm from Southern California, I moved away from here when I was a little girl...I've always felt the pull back here. I'm glad I did it!

Other Information:
My favorite saying is "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it." LOL I heard it one day and it made me laugh so now its my favorite. When I was younger and married the first time I stayed thin because I was afraid to gain the weight. The reason for that was because my husband at the time kept telling me that if I got fat he would tie me to the car and run it off. I wasn't so sure he was kidding so I made sure that I was thin all the time so that I wouldn't have to find out. After I left him I gained a lot of weight...I went from 115 to about 175 lbs...on my own I was able to get back down to roughly 147 where I joiined SparkPeople. I'm now down to 135.8. The trip from 175 to 147 was an up and down battle and probably not one of the healthiest ways to lose weight. Thats why I am so glad that I am a SparkPeople member because I'm learning how to be healthy not how to be thin. Becoming thin while becoming healthy is just a bonus...a rather big one but at least something is good.
