I am a 47-year-old woman who exercises 5 days a week walking up a mountain with two very friendly dogs who can't get fit because I can't seem to pick healthy things or control my portions. I am sedentary at work and for hobbies I play trumpet in two concert bands.

My Goals:
I would like to be fit and healthy. I hope weight loss comes along with this goal, but mostly I want to be healthier.

My Program:
I am keeping track of my food intake, or will as soon as I can figure out all the perks of being on this site and I walk everyday with my dogs. I am also drinking an extra 32-ounce bottle of water a day.

Personal Information:
I live in Oregon in a small college town and work from home. I am in two concert bands and play the trumpet.

Other Information:
My hobbies used to be reading, music and eating, but now I would like them to be reading, music and being outdoors doing something fun and fitness related with my dogs.

The three basics to turning your lifestyle around to a healthier mode include:

1) input: improving the quality of your food choices (such as by de-junking the house and removing all tempting, high-calorie foods),

2) output: bumping up the frequency, intensity and duration of your physical activities.

3) Water, water, and MORE water! It has been truly amazing to me to find how much impact my water intake has on my weight loss! Carry water with you EVERYWHERE! Try as best as possible to drink nothing but water.

An object in motion tends to STAY in motion!
