I have had a tendency toward laziness. I am DONE being lazy where my life is concerned. I am WORTH every effort that I can muster.

I had been on Belviq at the end of last year until the beginning of this year and I lost 20 lbs ... then I wasn't able to get it anymore and regained all the weight I lost. I'm very disappointed and discouraged.

School is a bear! Nobody ever said graduate school was going to be easy but dayum!

*I was accepted into the graduate program and am now working on my MS in counseling: marriage, family, child therapy. I just started (Aug 2014) so I have another 2 years, followed by a year of internship.

*I got my BS in psychology in May (2014)

Personal Information:
My name is Kimberlynn. I am Irish/Russian, and Native American (Choktaw / Cherokee). I am especially proud of my Irish heritage. My family hails from the province of Ulster, in Antrim, Belfast, Derry, Donegal, and Down; and the province of Leinster in Dublin. I grew up in Los Angeles County (Wilmington, Long Beach, Compton), but I have lived in the Central Valley of California (Visalia / Porterville) for the past 27 years. I plan to move to Seattle, WA after graduation to work as a therapist. Once I am licensed as an LMFT I will go into private practice. I am very interested in volunteering my therapeutic services as a United Nations Volunteer (UNV) for refugees in war-torn countries.

I have an AA in social science, a BS in psychology, and am working on an MSC/MFCT




I don't watch much TV - although I am insanely addicted to Criminal Minds - I love me some Dr. Spencer Reed. I do read A LOT. I love to read paranormal stuff - especially if it comes in a series. My current favorite is the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

    Right now I have some extreme challenges in my life and am struggling with them but I'm trying to avoid negative behavior and adopt new ways to cope. Not always easy but necessary. I look for simple things to make things better. I recognize I'm not perfect and will make mistakes but I forgive myself and move on. I'm glad you are back!!!!

    Hi and thanks for the goodie! Regarding getting in to mountain climbing and rock climbing (related, but different endeavors, although there may be some crossover), I started by hiking, so see if you can find a local hiking group. Get some good hikes under your belt, and see if they have any "peak bagging" hikes. That's how I started. Once you hit the top of a peak, you never look back! It's just an awesome experience...

    For rock climbing, you can start learning in an indoor rock climbing gym, unless you have friends with a lot of experience who can show you the ropes (literally!).
