Personal Information:
My name is Kimberlynn. I am Irish-American (57% Irish based on ancestry DNA). I am especially proud of my Irish heritage. My family hails from the province of Ulster, in Antrim, Belfast, Derry, Donegal, and Down; and the province of Leinster in Dublin. I grew up in Los Angeles County (Wilmington, Long Beach, Compton), but I have lived in the Central Valley of California (Visalia / Porterville) for the past 27 years. I plan to move to Seattle, WA after graduation to work as a therapist. Once I am licensed as an LMFT I will go into private practice. I am very interested in volunteering my therapeutic services as a United Nations Volunteer (UNV) for refugees in war-torn countries.

Other Information:
I have an AA in social science, a BS in psychology, and am working on an MSC/MFCT

I don't watch much TV - although I am insanely addicted to Criminal Minds - I love me some Dr. Spencer Reed. I do read A LOT. I love to read paranormal stuff - especially if it comes in a series. My current favorite is the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

I was just looking at my pictures when I noticed that you had left a comment on the dragon with a kettle bell! Thank you so much. It was a gift to my chiropractor who diagnosed me with a serious back problem. He had been helping me to continue to strengthen my core, and he is a certified kettle bell instructor. I had to have back surgery almost 6 years ago. (Bone graft was put in.) So now I am ready to take up the kettle bell again with him to help strengthen me. I loved doing the kettle bell! Best exercise there is all around! The red kettle bell in the picture is the 75 pound bell and it is known as the dragon. Thank you for your comment on my picture. It was much appreciated! emoticon

It must be really difficult to watch your mother suffering like this while knowing that this was a choice she made. Smoking is extremely addictive and hard to quit. I sent a prayer for your mom and for you too. emoticon

I know that you have wonderful things in your future and that you will be able to bless so many people with the things you innately know and the things you have learned. You will have the opportunity to change lives and even save lives. Some day when you are retired, like I am, you can look back on your own career and be in awe of the opportunities you were given and what you made of them. A doctor once said something to me when I was a young R.N. that stuck with me. He said he treated every patient like that person was his own grandmother and that seemed to really hit a spot with me. You will encounter a lot of difficult patients but if you keep this in mind you will always do your best for them.

In regard to relationships, sometimes a door closes and it seems like the worst possible outcome but, years later, another door opens and it's the right door and you are so glad that you didn't settle. I had a rough childhood and a rough life until I was 30. I always prayed that some day some one would really love me for who I am. There were times that I didn't have much hope but I continued to pray that it would happen and it did when I least expected it. The reality was so much better than what I had envisioned. It was like finding my other half and it was the same for my husband. I hope that you will pray that prayer every day and that some day you will be as blessed as we have been. Trust that when the time is right, it will happen. If it happened for me, it can happen for you.
