On April 12, 2013, I reached my goal weight of 133 lbs. One year later, I lost 8 more lbs. to maintain 125 lbs. to 133 lbs. My total weight loss was 28 lbs. But, over the last 1 1/2 years, I have not maintained 133 lbs. I still exercise daily and have not lost my muscle tone, but I am up 10 lbs and need to get back to tracking my food. It's what works for me. Increasing my core strength and stamina with daily exercise has really made a difference in my energy levels and in alleviating my back pain. With a lower back herniation, exercise has managed to keep it in check. Spark people works and I am committed to tracking again!

My Goals:
Long Term Goals:
1) To complete my first 5K. (Done - Ran my first 5K on April 28, 2013 in 34:02).

2)To complete my next 5K in less than 34 minutes. (Done - Ran my second 5K on Oct. 6, 2013 in 30:48). Woohoo!

3)To be maintaining 125 lbs. by my 40th birthday on January 22, 2014. (Done - Obtained goal on January 23, 2014)

4) Ran my third 5K in 28:18 on April 13, 2014, (my 1 year maintenance anniversary). Good enough for third place in my age group! Woohoo!

5) Want to complete another race in the fall at my personal best time. Looking for a race that fits my schedule.

Personal Information:
I am a mother of two beautiful talented girls, ages 6 and 4, and I also have my own business. This juggling keeps me busy everyday. My initial spark to change my life-style occurred when my back herniation incapacitated me to the point that I could not move from the bed to the bathroom. I could not even pick up my baby from the crib because it would hurt my back. I needed to start taking care of myself by exercising and strengthening my core. My spark friends are special connections in my life that motivate me to keep going and striving to reach my goals! Thank you, spark friends.


Other Information:
I am obsessed with wearing my FitBit everyday. I feel lost without it. It is a special day when I hit 15,000 steps in a day since my job requires me to do a lot of sitting. But, I strive to increase my steps each day finding ways to add more steps just to see it on my tracker!

    I LOVE your page! Your weight loss is exactly what I want to do: goal weight 135 lbs, dream weight 125 lbs; to lose 28 lbs would be just about right.     I saw your name on the SparkCommunity page as a motivational person. After visiting your SparkPage...I agree you are very motivational indeed!

    I have been with Spark since 2009 and find it difficult to stay motivated, but members such as yourself help me obtain and retain motivation. For the past year I have found it difficult to stay on the healthy exercise routine I need and have slipped back into bad habits. I hit several of my goals over the past 4+ years, one of doing 4 5K runs that included a very difficult Warrior Dash. (a real accomplishment at my advanced years) and I did every obstacle on the , very difficult, course. A knee injury, shoulder injury has sidelined me, but I am looking forward to running again with the help of doctors. (I guess I need to make the appointment). I cannot lie to myself any longer with my injuries and find ways to add more exercise to my life. I do ride a motorcycle in long distance trips that is exercise in some degree (2.8 cal./min burned), but it is not Aerobic and muscle building.

    Thank you for your motivation. Keep up the good work you are doing for yourself. I know how hard you must have worked to lose those pounds and maintain your weight loss. You have a beautiful family, my best to your young girls who must be inspired with your dedication towards your goals.
