Trying to get back in shape after being away from exercise for too long. Found the iPhone Couch to 5K app (love it!) and SparkPages was recommended by a friend.

Hoping to lose a few pounds I've accumulated as well as getting back into shape. Now that I've started I'm hoping to run some 5Ks as well. I love the endorphin rush I feel after running!

Running has become a habit! Goals have gotten bigger. I would like to get enough miles behind me to complete a half marathon.

thank you for your well wishes!! this too shall pass.
i'm hoping i'll have a good amount of healing in the next 18 days & that i will have more strength too, so i can just be in a brace and not a cast for the duration of the healing process.

and get back to running!!

Thanks for your comments about my toe/shoes.

I always go to a running store for shoes. I just don't like to pay the running shoe/store price.

Who said Running is an inexpensive sport? LOL

I purchased Altras yesterday. A Zero Drop shoe. Coach said I could run in them because I have good running form! WOOT!

Took them for a spin today.... love them!

Toe gets a little more purple every day, just waiting it out. The Altras are 1/2 size larger than my Brooks. We'll see how these work out.

Next time though I'm checking out Zappos and hope to purchase my shoes a little cheaper. Although Coach did throw in socks and then I got my 10% discount. WOOT!

And Coach said I should get over 350 miles on these sh0es. For now my plan is to rotate shoes. I have 3 pair. High mile days - Altra. Mid mile days - newer Brooks. Low mile days or trail run days - older Brooks.

Hey there!

Yeah Ben Lomond's a really accessible Munro.
The Concrete pillar is Triangulation Point ( or Trig Point) and is used by surveyors and the Ordnance Survey map people. I think there is one on most susbtantial hills in Scotland.
