What do I make to make my dreams come true? Well let's see....

26 years old, med student, all I do all day is sitting in a chair and studying! And on the top of that I am a very emotional eater!
Especially when I am stressed because of exams...it is like my stress is a hungry monster that wakes up inside me, and can be calmed with pizza, pasta, and generally junk food/comfort food!
And after that I feel awful, emotionally and physically!
So I am trying to change my habbits!

I enrolled to a Hatha Yoga programm , I loved it! I ...

I enrolled to a Hatha Yoga programm , I loved it! I believe it helps me to listen to my bodys needs, and to try to take the best care of me I can!
I also am seeing a therapist who helps me deal with my stress in regards with exams, but also other aspects of my life!

So I try to focus more in the present , take care of my mind body and soul every day. Not to obsess about the future, but start to enjoy my life now instead!

Yea you've been having all sorts of lovely events! How did the wedding celebrations turn out? I'm determined to not let these last 5 days get to me. It's true, after I came home a few days ago -- having run 2.75 miles and walking 2 miles I decided it was time to eat pasta since I'm always below range on carbs. I thought it would be good for me but I guess not! It seems like I should have just kept going in the direction I was.

OB/GYN will be so rewarding, what a great career! I definitely think that's one of the "better" choices. My fiance starts Ophthalmology residency in July. He's doing his internship this year...not sure if that's included in the Greek M.D. programs, but after students graduate from medical school they have to spend one year slaving away in general medicine before studying their speciality.

Anyway, I hope you're having a great week! -Marie

Hi Kikimov, thank you for your encouragement, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It's hard to realize that no matter how hard I've been working, ultimately it hasn't been hard enough to get where I want! We're all trying here, but the women who go from as much body fat as I had/have to being strong and fit have to make WAY more sacrifices than I am. It's ok, though, even if I am heavier than I wanted to be for my wedding. It's going to be a beautiful time and a great weekend. How have you been doing? What year are you in med school anyway? Any idea about what specialty you'll choose? emoticon
