Hi, I'm Kathryn. I've finally accepted the fact that losing weight is no longer the easy process it used to be when I was younger. The combination of menopause and mid-life crisis threw me into a depression . I turned to food for comfort and the pounds started to creep up. Initially I was looking for the perfect diet or "magic pill" to lose the weight. Thankfully a health crisis brought me to my senses and with much support and prayers I got on track with a healthy lifestyle. Been a member of SP since Aug 2008 and it has been a blessing. It helps me stay on course from one day to the next and gives me the accountability which was sorely lacking before.. Each morning I say to myself "How can I honor God today?" Part of that requires that I put healthy food in my body (His Temple) and keep as fit as I can. I find that the more my perspective and attitude line up with His will the easier it is to live a healthy life - but I have a long way to go still.

I've been all over the map in the past 6 1/2 years. I knew that changing bad habits and establishing a healthy lifestyle would not be easy, but I did not think it would be this hard. The hardest part for me is staying motivated. I need accountability - that's the best thing about SP, it will keep me honest. I have slacked off and my weight and health have suffered but there is no option but to get back on track or fall farther behind ( and I've got way too much "behind" already)

My Program:
Meal planning is the cornerstone of my program. I use the food tracker to help me stay in my calorie range. Exercise includes Strength Training and cardio 5-6 days per week. Stress reduction techniques to avoid binging.

Personal Information:
I am a transplanted New Yorker now living in FL. Eager to pursue a new career in health and wellness.

Other Information:
Favorite book is The Bible. I love music, reading and learning to live calmly and peacefully in the techno-crazy 21st century.

    Good Morning Kathryn! I hope you had a great Easter too! There is something about my new challenge that makes me stay on track! I guess I am a little more competitive than I remembered--lol! If i do not lose weight--even just a little--or miss weeks posting without notifying them--i will be dropped! And there is an imaginary travel goal that competes with other teams within the challenge umbrella.
    I am glad the weather has changed too--I have been getting out on the trail on the trike sometimes with Copper and sometimes with my neighbor and getting at least 120 minutes of exercise daily! will keep in touch! ---oh--exciting news for me--I am going to be a great grandmother in September this year! And will be visiting there for the shower and when the baby arrives! Another wonderful reason to get this weight off! Hugs Kathleen!

    Hi Kathryn, sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner! I have been working hard and getting noware! So I refocused and found a 5% challenge that will drop me if I do not loose every week. This is my first week in and I am so focused its scarey! Lol!
