Healthy!

I grew up in an extremely healthy family ... we lived on whole grains, lean organic meats, and grew an organic garden. We almost never had sugar or refined foods of any kind (with the exception of Breyer's ice cream ... and my dad's horrible day-old donut and coke habit ... we'd beg him for a bite and a sip). As I grew up, I started eating junk food with my friends ... a whole bag of doritos and some brownies while watching a movie ... slowly, that turned into adult bingeing -- fast food ...

As I grew up, I started eating junk food with my friends ... a whole bag of doritos and some brownies while watching a movie ... slowly, that turned into adult bingeing -- fast food whenever it sounded good, 2 pitchers of beer on the weekends ... at first, it didn't matter too much, as I worked out all the time and was still young enough to have a fast metabolism, but about a year ago, i stopped doing any cardio, started eating and drinking whatever I wanted because it was fun and sounded good ... and suddenly I was nearly 200 pounds. I'm 5'10", so my frame carries the weight pretty well, but I feel horrible about myself. I started to feel paranoid that in public people were always laughing about my weight. So, now I'm losing it!

My Goals:
My goal is to go from 198 to 150 by May 2007.

My Program:
I'm trying to keep this simple! I avoid a few foods (refined foods of all kinds, sugar, deep fried food, and chips), and I try to emphasize whole grains, vegetables, and lean meats. I also exercise at least 30 minutes per day five times per week and lift weights at least two times per week.

I like your dog!
Keep up the good work... I am a beer drinker myself, and boy... when I am out, I sure like to keep 'em coming! I out drink my husband any day of the week. But, I know that beer, even light beer, is one of the worst drinks out there when you are trying to loose weight. It took a mental effort, but I have been slowing down on the beer intake, and it really shows!!! Good luck!
