Hi, I'm Kim. It's time to get real. I've been on Spark People for over 2 years, and it's been a fantastic ride. I've gone from being a fat, tired, old lady to being a runner. Along the way, I lost almost 80 pounds and gained myself.
But here's the real part: I never did reach my goal of 140 pounds, and over the past few months I've felt myself slipping back into bad habits and gaining weight back.
Today I'm getting real. I'm doing this. I am making a commitment to be consistent, log every bite, treat myself well and stay active on Spark. I have 36 pounds to lose, and I aim to lose them 5 pounds at a time. My spark is back and I'm ready to do this!
I can't wait to start feeling successful again, and I'm excited to share my journey with you.

Get FIT. Train hard for upcoming half marathons and ragnar. Attend RIP barbell strength class 2-3 times a week. Lose 35 pounds. Stay consistent, be kind to me.
I am tracking my calories religiously, trying to stick to healthy foods to fuel my body. I completed the couch to 5k program in June 2010, and have since been running consistently.
My three children are all miracles in our family. It has been a roller-coaster ride getting them here, and after years of fertility doctors, miscarriages, and failed adoptions our family is finally complete. Somewhere in all of the stress I lost myself and gained layers to prove it. I can't wait to find myself again.
My daughter is autistic, so I am very interested in autism related topics and people who share the stresses (and joys) of parenting children on the spectrum.
I am an educator and I currently work in Early Intervention.
I am an avid reader and I love to hear good, live music. If I had my way I'd spend a lot more time at concerts. In another life I might have been a roadie for The Indigo Girls or Brandi Carlile. :)
I aspire to be a good cook, a foodie and a gardener, but so far watching The Food Network and HGTV hasn't been the key. Maybe if I watch some more. . .

YAY for being active! I wish I could say the same. I couldn't tell you the last time I exercised. I'm in the "maybe tomorrow" mode that I can't seem to get out of. We signed up for a half marathon in May - not sure if that's going to happen. Grrr.
I'm with you with the weight gain - mine's at about 30 pounds - the number is consuming me and it's hard to not think "how did I let that happen, I know better".
