The Kerrnel's Offensive

I've been overweight for as long as I can remember, and while I enjoy sports (participating, not just watching), I've been at my heaviest the last several years. After being diagnosed with OSA late last fall, I thought screw it, now is the time to take the bull by the horns.

I'm tired of back issues, and really want to get back into playing sports I enjoy - softball, ice hockey, volleyball...and really get back to consistently good golf. The last time I was consistent was just ...

I'm tired of back issues, and really want to get back into playing sports I enjoy - softball, ice hockey, volleyball...and really get back to consistently good golf. The last time I was consistent was just before my back went out and I'd lost 30lbs on Body for Life with a buddy of mine.

So I'm going on the offensive this time and taking responsibility for making this happen.

Aside from weight loss, I'm a native Canadian living in Northern Virginia...been here about 12 years now. A colleague of mine in Toastmasters introduced me to a local public access radio station, and for the last year I've had my very own show that airs Mondays at 9pm on Radio Fairfax (radiofairfax.org) called Canadian Accents, showcasing Canadian artists for the DMV (DC/MD/VA). High protein meal plan, trying to get into the gym as often as I can. I know recommended is 3 times a week, but I want to exceed that to make sure I keep on track or even be ahead of the game.

Thanks for responding on my page!
I'll have to look into getting a monitor. I hadn't bothered since the only runs I do off the treadmill are during races, but I am definitely curious now! I have been shedding a lot of mass, so something really does have to be wrong with either the calorie counter or the fitness calorie counts, and I am betting it's the second one!

Thanks for your commet on my blog and the advice about toastmasters. I've heard good things about them for sure. It's a little too short notice for my class tomorrow, lol, but I'll certainly think about it for the longer term. Great advice - thank you!

Hey, so apparently I don't get notifications of when a comment gets left on my personal page so I didn't respond earlier. You saw that I had a few FFDP tracks in my workout list. Other stuff I have on there is Disturbed, A7X, Stone Sour, Drowning Pool, Papa Roach and a little Mudvayne. I love heavy stuff but hate the screaming. Finding bands that ride that line well is a bit difficult. My two faves are FFDP and Stone Sour. Also saw that you're a hockey fan. I'm from Minnesota myself and been playing all my life. Best sport in the world.
