Every pound is the next goal. I'm not sure why I've waited so long to do this.
Better late than never...

This website is such an amazing source of motivation, support and resources. I am really enjoying having all of that at my fingertips (I still can't believe it's free)

Even if I never lose another pound, the changes I have made will stay with me forever. That doesn't mean I'll never have bad means that the bad days will pass and I'll keep on trucking...

Secrets to my success so far...

Water, water, water...and more water!

Exercise - now that's nothing new and definitely not rocket science!

Tracking my food daily - I can't always make time to log in here to record my nutrition so I often use a pen and paper.

Sparkrecipes - help bite the boredom of eating the same old food

SPICES of all kinds!!! Just because something is low fat doesn't mean it has to have no taste. I have learned alot in the last year or so about tailoring my food to my taste so even I forget that it's healthy - even when I'm the one that cooked it!!

Salad is my new addiction. Especially when I get close to going over my nutrition targets. I love to add a serving of flavoured shredded cheese to give it a kick.

Measure EVERYTHING I eat!! Because I am a cheater. I sadly admit that I will always cheat at how much food I give myself if I can get away with it. So, now I measure everything from the milk in my cereal to spaghetti to Cool Whip. I count out crackers and tortilla chips (although I don't eat them very often)

Make it worth it! I am a stooge when it comes to giving up calories. I love to eat things that I can fill up on without having the calories add up.

My Program:
I have been a non-smoker for two years and counting. I have pretty much given up drinking coffee (at work, we used to drink upwards of ten cups/day).

Drink at least 10 cups of water/day.
Consume an average of 1700 calories per day.
Exercise 5 days/week.

Get more involved outside with my kids - bike riding, soccer, swimming, walking

Now the program is to make that my habit.

Personal Information:
I originally started Sparkpeople in early 2007. When I hit what I thought was a plateau, I found out I was actually pregnant with our third child. I had been making great progress but I stopped my weight loss program until after the baby was born. Now I am the mother of three beautiful boys, living in NW Ontario.
My husband has put up with me for over ten years!!

    Yep, damn that slippery slope. Since Friday, I've done well. Ha ha I know that's only 6 days but I have to cling to whatever I can :):)
    Good luck on the treadmill. I hope you can find some really crappy TV to keep you entertained !!!

    Hum ... I'd say I'm about 1/2 too. I've been doing the exercise but the eating is still my struggle. I REALLY started today with the eating .. but I didn't get up and do my boot camp this morning so I was quite disappointed in myself. AAARRRGGGHHHH !!!

    Thanks for popping by. I'm feeling a little discouraged today, but that will pass. I think I'll just plug in the Wii and play a little tennis to lift my spirits. Yes, it is a lot of fun! I play with my grandkids sometimes when they come over... not too many sports you can play with preschoolers, but these you can. Kids seem to like bowling the most.

    How have you been doing? Are the kids back in school yet? I remember how hectic those first few weeks can be... and yet somehow peaceful at the same time ;-)
