Ahhh.. what to say... well, I am 36 years old and I bake bread for a living. I am a wife and mother... my children are 2 and 4. My son (2) has allergies to both dairy and gluten, and we are all vegetarian (I am newly vegan but my children and husband do eat eggs). After 5 pregnancies (including 3 losses) and almost 8 years of marriage, I find myself weighing 60 lbs more than the day we got married.. how did THAT happen???? So here I am, trying to be the healthy and happy mom my family ...

My Goals:
I would love to get down to 140 lbs... baby steps. I get overwhelmed easily when I have a mountain to climb.. so for now, i am climbing anthills. One meal at a time... one pound at a time.

My Program:
I follow a vegan diet. I focus on whole grains, local and seasonal produce, and good quality protein in the form of beans, nuts, tofu, tempeh, etc.

Hi Kerri, I haven't made much from Appetite for Reduction yet. I saw a recipe today in the book that really caught my eye, Black Beans in Smoky Red Velvet Mole. I may have messed up the title a little, but you'll find it in there. Sounds so good!

Hi Kerri, thanks so much for adding me as a friend. It helps us to have folks here who share our values. BTW, I see you've been to Farm Sanctuary. How cool is that! We might go to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary tomorrow if DH's sciatica can stand the 3 hour ride (each way) from here!
