78 Pounds and 48,000 Spark Points later --

28 months to lose and keep off 78 pounds...WOW I am a totally new person! I would really like to lose another 12 pounds, but for right now I am satisfied with just maintaining the 78 pounds lost :-) Its most noticeable in my jean size - I have gone from a 20/22 jean to a size 10!!!! I haven't been a size 10 since early middle school! I was probably 12 years old...lol

Its a new year and time to come up with a few ...

I would really like to lose another 12 pounds, but for right now I am satisfied with just maintaining the 78 pounds lost :-) Its most noticeable in my jean size - I have gone from a 20/22 jean to a size 10!!!! Its a new year and time to come up with a few resolutions....hmmmm what shall I strive for this year? Well, I trained for and ran 2 5K races in 2008, something I never imagined I was capable of, so lets strive for 4 races in 2009. That seems attainable (though a year ago it sure didn't..lol) And I really need to add some pictures of me at my current weight to this page -- all the ones posted are 78+ pounds ago :-) I think those are actually resolutions I can stick to :-)

My latest venture has been to spend my lunch hour at work with another coworker "doing" the stairs.... We go to the basement and take the stairs to the 8th floor as quick as we can and then go back down and repeat it 3 more times. By the 3rd time we are sweating -- but its really been helpful in keeping the weight off. It takes about 15-20 minutes depending on how tired we are. We try for 4 days a week, and usually get at least 3 days in. My husband has noticed the toning of my calves and rear from it :-)

Ii find it comical that I had to keep changing my goal ticker. I would get to my goal weight and say "wow I can do more" and change it for another 5 or 10 pounds lower. I guess I just never imagined the I would be ABLE to do it, and once it's in black and white and staring me in the face - I realize I CAN!! I am not one of those people that are over zealous, I KNOW that 149 is plenty thin enough for my frame and wont try to go lower, knowing that it wouldnt be healthy :-)

Update 3/21/09
I had my annual health check at work yesterday and noticed on my file my weights---
2007 242 pounds
2008 174 pounds
2009 169 pounds
WOW!!!! I have maintained for a full year!!!!!! The nurse doing the paperwork even noticed and said wow, you have really kept it off, way to go!! WOW, I am pumped now..lol

Update June 09:
Added some pictures of me at my current weight :-)

I had a goal of 4 5K races and DID it -and then one...lol--
May 09 Corporate Challenge DONE!
June 09 Swamp Rat Race DONE!
Sept 09 ARC Race DONE!
Oct 09 Syracuse Festival of Races SIGNED UP :-) DONE!
Nov 09 Jingle Bell Run DONE!

WHOO HOO!! I got 5 5K races in this year!!!!

hey love the new photos!! See you tonight at the advanced group. It will kill me because I have not run since the race but I hiked 6 miles yesterday! Probably not a good idea but It was a beautiful morning. Hopefully the rest will keep the shin splints at bay :)

YOu are one of the top on the leader board of our class. I was just checking if I was the only one left. I signed up and then did nothing with it until a few months ago. Congratulations on your weight loss.

Yeah, last night was a killer...they better go away soon because this is NO FUN. Josh was my coach but I got bumped up to another group and the only person I know is in a slower group. However, I told Josh that if this pain keeps up I will be dropping back down into his group! Sounds like you are getting a great workout in your group. The weather is nice now for running -last monday was brutal.

Hey thanks for the b-day card...how did you know?!

Your homework sounds like a killer. Mine was a breeze compared to that!!! I am starting slow and Josh was my coach but they bumped me up...a little worried about what they will do to me Monday.

Are you doing the Swap Rat too? Sounds like you will have a great time if you do :) emoticon
