Today is May 10, 2011 - Tomorrow marks 6 months Sugar-free and Binge-free! I could not be more pleased. My energy level is the big reward and the 65 pounds down is too.

I am a Liberal Christian, Wife of 30 years, Mother of 2 grown sons, Step-mother of 4, Sister of 11 awesome siblings, Daughter of the best Engineer in the world, and an Industrial Engineer. I love reading, computing, Genealogy, gardening, travel, Dachshunds and food. At least I'm doing well controlling the food! ...

Allergies/Intolerances (who knows where one stops and another starts?) - Gluten, Wheat, Tapioca (Cassava), Cane Sugar, Peppermint and Pomegranate. Figuring out Cane Sugar changed my life.

Hello! I have entered a phase of my life (hope it's a long-term phase) where I eat healthy everyday and exercise multiple times a week. A phase where if I fall off the wagon I climb back on ASAP.

I plan to avoid cane/high-fructose sugar-based foods as I feel I am addicted to them. Honestly? Just a small portion inevitably leads to excess.

Hi Kelly! It was nice to see you in my blog comments. I know what you mean about the sugar-free stuff. That will be my next area of focus, along with sodium. I eat sugar-free puddings and whipped topping - that is my "go to" for my sweet cravings. I don't overdo them but I don't think they are doing me any favors, anyway. I like your point about foods like that displacing more nutritious food. I hope you are doing well, overall - your ticker looks good.
