Well, I can't believe I'm here!

In January 2007, I snapped. I was going to have to go UP one more dress size and the excuses were over. Bottom line, I was unhealthy, unfit and out of control.

I joined a friendly competition, joined WW with a friend, joined a gym and luckily found SparkPeople!

Today, only 7 months later, I am down 6 dress sizes, I have a healthy BMI and - whoa, I'm even an exercise-junkie!

Question for myself...
Will I have the strength to lose my last 10lbs? Will I have the discipline to maintain what I've lost already?

One year later and all is great! Despite kidney surgery and having to withdraw from exercise, I've been able to keep the weight off. I'm looking forward to running again but in the meantime...wish me luck!

My Goals:
My weight goal is to lose MIN 1lb per week, MAX 2 lb per week. Total = 58 lbs

My fitness goal is to run a half- marathon in 2009

My Program:
Weight Watchers (including meetings)

I do heavy cardio 4 times per week, circuit training 3 times a week followed by light cardio. Swim, walk or other activities whenever I can fit it in.

Update April 2008: Awaiting kidney surgery. Working my Weight Watchers program, using SparkPeople and exercise when I can.

Update July 2008:
Still recovering from the surgery but moving-moving-moving!

Married with two beautiful kids! I'm 35 and glad to be back in a comfortable size.

    Hi Kelly! Thanks so much for encouraging me. It is so inspiring to know that you, and plenty of others, DO stick to the program for the long haul. I am sure there is a lot I could learn from you...mostly how to stick with it when you're really bored with the whole to escape from the old habits that keep dragging me back down... You're amazing. You've done such a great job.

    How did your surgery go in Feb? You are doing great with your weight loss progress. That last 10 pounds can be stubborn, but hang in there you will do it. I am honored that you added me as a friend.

    Just saw your question to yourself in the intro to your page. You are so dedicated, I know that you will work to keep off all that weight! Just remember that you don't have to be strong 100% of the time to still ultimately be the winner in the battle against your weight. If you ever find yourself slipping, you'll set a challenge for yourself to return to what works (and you KNOW exactly what works now!) until you're back where you want to be. Have a GREAT time in jealous!!! :)

    Hey Kelly! Thanks for your super sweet comment on my blog. I have been working very hard on my health/fitness/weight loss and it looks like you have been too! I had no idea you did that much exercise and that you are going to run a marathon in two years!! Wow, THAT takes a lot of preparation. I get enthusiastic when I post because a) I have a lot of energy now and b) I have such strong feelings about all this stuff! Thank you for noticing. I love being able to communicate with others who are going through the same thing but at different stages - some are farther along, others have started more recently...this website is great. Anyway, keep up the amazing work, you are more than halfway to your goal. How tall are you, by the way? Have a great day and talk to you soon!
