My Goals:
I started running in January 2009 and I'm always looking to get better, faster and stronger.

Eventually, someday, maybe, I'd like to qualify for Boston. But that's a long ways off.

My Program:
I run and train with Runners World Tulsa.

We run, eat, drink and laugh together. We share stories and advice. We take fitness classes and cycling classes. Then we drink beer.

Personal Information:
I'm Kate and I run all over Tulsa and beyond.

Other Information:
Books - I'm an avid reader of mostly fiction, but I do enjoy a good dishy Hollywood autobiography. Which is also mostly fiction.

Movies - Zombie movies and comedies top the list.

Hobbies - I like crocheting and cooking, and I'm planning to do some container gardening as soon as I have a minute.

Thanks for commiserating. Most of the time, it helps me to know I'm not alone. I'm kind of like a guy: I'm usually not looking for advice unless I specifically ask for it. Which is why I ignore most peoples' advice. emoticon

I'm kind of like you in that I pick up a lot of advice from reading other people's blogs and comments. I'm a firm believer in learning from the mistakes of others, since I won't live long enough to make them all myself.

Thanks for the comments on my whiny blog post. Deep down, there's a part of me that refuses to recognize I'm almost 50, and that part of me resents all these little aches and pains that are the natural consequence of surviving into middle age.

Today, my legal assistant - who's a couple years younger than me - told me she thinks I'm amazing. She knows how much I'm struggling with the swim, and I just refuse to quit. I've confessed there are days it makes me want to cry, but I'm just too stubborn to let that stop me. It was awfully nice of her to tell me that.

Thanks for the friend add. I've just added you back. Also now that you've reach goal weight, I like to invite you to join the Maintenance Team. (official name is "At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance). I credit the support over there for my 4+ years of maintenance.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes, Flower City was a lot of fun; but I don't think a lot of people travel to get to it. Just a nice intimate 13.1 mile run with 2500 of my closest friends, as the organizer would say.

I got some really nice pictures from the professional photographer; but the first time I tried to put one in a blog, SP told me the file was too big. Oh, well. Facebook took them.

Don't underestimate the value of panic, hysteria, and outrage. I'm pretty sure those are the skills that enabled me to survive my first year of law school. emoticon
