2017 Update - I reached my goal weight November 25, 2012. Lately I've been hovering just above goal weight but that's ok. I have not slipped into old habits and that is huge!

I no longer define myself by the scale. That took some doing let me tell you! It's not about being skinny for me. It's about strength and endurance now. I watched my mom suffer the last years of her life from her sedentary lifestyle. I want to avoid that in my old age!

I still believe in baby steps to reach any goal. Small, healthy, smart changes every single day. That's how I started on SparkPeople and that's how I continue to maintain my goals.

I like to to break up my activity throughout the day to keep calorie burn and metabolism working for me all day long. I also believe in rest days. Muscles need a rest to repair and strengthen.

SparkPeople is such a positive experience for me. I look forward to reading blogs to inspire me. I keep my SparkFriends in my head when I'm out to eat or when I'm pushing through a tough run or workout. Everyone keeps me moving.

    I am always happy to have someone to talk music with and it is even better when they are fans of the almighty awesome band of Metallica!! Very cool!!

    I am so stoked -- I wanted to go so bad back in the day when they toured with Faith No More and Guns 'n Roses (waaaaay back in the early 90's). But have yet to see them live. Total bucket list item! I can't wait!!
