2017 Update - I reached my goal weight November 25, 2012. Lately I've been hovering just above goal weight but that's ok. I have not slipped into old habits and that is huge!

I no longer define myself by the scale. That took some doing let me tell you! It's not about being skinny for me. It's about strength and endurance now. I watched my mom suffer the last years of her life from her sedentary lifestyle. I want to avoid that in my old age!

I still believe in baby steps to reach any goal. Small, healthy, smart changes every single day. That's how I started on SparkPeople and that's how I continue to maintain my goals.

I like to to break up my activity throughout the day to keep calorie burn and metabolism working for me all day long. I also believe in rest days. Muscles need a rest to repair and strengthen.

SparkPeople is such a positive experience for me. I look forward to reading blogs to inspire me. I keep my SparkFriends in my head when I'm out to eat or when I'm pushing through a tough run or workout. Everyone keeps me moving.

Keep moving forward!

Way to go with your malasana pose getting easier!! Hard work paid off! That is a great pose as we don't squat down often enough. Admire your persistance. :)

Without a doubt, darlin' - the feeling is mutual. And t hank you for the bloglove.

I think you will know exactly when to make the change. At least - I did. I toyed with lots of things and enjoyed most of 'em. I even grew my hair long and used hot rollers on it every day after Mama died because I look a little like her with longer curly hair.

But one day you will KNOW. and then - it's a lot easier to do. Just be sure you find someone who is magic with scissors and understands the proportions of your face.

Waiting until later for the grey is not a bad idea while you are working. Unfortunately the world judges on how you look.
