2017 Update - I reached my goal weight November 25, 2012. Lately I've been hovering just above goal weight but that's ok. I have not slipped into old habits and that is huge!

I no longer define myself by the scale. That took some doing let me tell you! It's not about being skinny for me. It's about strength and endurance now. I watched my mom suffer the last years of her life from her sedentary lifestyle. I want to avoid that in my old age!

I still believe in baby steps to reach any goal. Small, healthy, smart changes every single day. That's how I started on SparkPeople and that's how I continue to maintain my goals.

I like to to break up my activity throughout the day to keep calorie burn and metabolism working for me all day long. I also believe in rest days. Muscles need a rest to repair and strengthen.

SparkPeople is such a positive experience for me. I look forward to reading blogs to inspire me. I keep my SparkFriends in my head when I'm out to eat or when I'm pushing through a tough run or workout. Everyone keeps me moving.

Keep moving forward!

    Hi Kellie! emoticon

Re: 28 day boot camp dvd
I'm glad you found it to be challenging and doable at the same time. For me, that's what made it great! And thanks for the kudos on doing the whole 82 mins. At the time, I was in much better condition and hope to get that back again.

    Re: My relationship with food.
I thought the same about vegetarians too, unfortunately there are lots of "foods" (potato chips, fritos, crackers, nuts, veggie pizzas etc.,) that qualify as 'vegetarian/vegan' fare but are loaded with oils, salt and sugar... hence fat/overweight vegans/vegetarians.

Thanks for stopping by with your awesome support and encouragement... totally appreciated. Week's been great and hope yours is too... aloha!

I'm so excited. When Kendall brought my attention to Andrew beaming ear to ear and fist pumping from across the gym because he realized I was turning cartwheels, I started jumping up and down like a little girl. I was that excited.

Yeah. It's not just me having a lot of run with this. It's great to share the joy!!!
