Starting from the inside out

My name is Kelly, I'm 40 years old and I'm blessed with a wonderful man, 4 year old little boy as well as a dog and a cat in my little family. I'm orginally from Ontario Canada but recently moved to Newfoundland - the most eastern province in Canada, on the north Atlantic. It's beautiful here and this new start has inspired me to take a good hard look at where I am in life and where I want to be.

I've been overweight my entire life and have made so many attempts to lose it and keep it off. I once lost 70 pounds but have gained back most of it. Now I'm taking a deeper look at the choices I'm making and why.

After a lifetime of disordered and emotional eating I'm taking a new approach. As I start this, I'm avoiding tracking food and weighing myself as these lead to obsessive behavior and I don't seem to stick with it. As they say "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten". So with that I begin today, to do things differently.........

** focus on eating clean

* journal food everyday

*8 glasses of water each day

* 40 to 60 min of fitness 5 days a week



My Program:
Focusing on my food choices, being conscious of what and why I'm eating.

Walking more and fitting in fitness whenever I can.

Instead of the scale - take measurements every month.

Hey Kelly!

I am so glad that the snow is something you adore! I really wish I was brave enough to not worry about falling! I think that this winter will continue to bring a whole new Holly -- one that might just be walking in the snow too!

I so relate to you about NOT tracking food. After decades of watching my weight (sometimes successful and sometimes not) I know how many calories in each food item. I don't want to think about this 24/7. I just think about calories, nutrition, fat, carbs at each meal just like average weight people living a healthy weight. That way I don't feel that I am on a dreaded diet, which I am not. Just want to eat healthy and live emotionally healthy as well. Good luck with your journey.
