Dj'ing back in early 2000's. Around a size 14 here. Started the upwards ballooning shortly after.

A photo before I gained about 50 pounds from a foot injury - I was happy with this photo.

Me at a size 8/10 from 17 years ago. This is my goal. 130 pounds (just not upside down again!)

I have 10 pics in my gallery

Ready To Find A Brand New Me!

Brand new to SP as of 6/17. Joined a gym almost 2 years ago, and have barely used that membership. That's going to change! I love to swim and go for walks. Need to get some pounds off so it doesn't hurt so MUCH to walk! Would love to find some online buddies or even people who live near me for some exercise!
I also am a professional club DJ, and I really enjoy making high energy mix cds to work out to. I bought a Finis Underwater MP3 player, so the hours in the pool fly by now!

My Goals:
* Quit Smoking once and for all

* Swim 3-4 days a week for an hour

* Quit listening to the inner "whiner" in me and quit making excuses!

* Reduce alcohol consumption to 1 day a week. (Hard goal here!)

* Clean out the fridge and restock with healthy options.

* Lose 10 pounds by the end of July.

My Program:
Swimming 3-4 days a week.
Portion control
Learning that smaller portions aren't going to make me starve ;)

Personal Information:
I'm from New Albany, OH just outside of Columbus. I recently lost my job, and decided to take the time to go back to school full time for my associate's degree in Computer Science. I'm also a DJ, I have been dj'ing for the past 11 years. I've been a professional procrastinator and excuse maker since the 1990's, and am trying to change my life to get healthy, and not be ashamed of my body and hide. I'm a very outgoing person deep down, but lately that's been a bit hard for me. Shame is a horrible feeling, as is the guilt I feel after eating/binging on stuff I know I shouldn't, then have no energy and just lay on the couch instead of going for a little walk. (My apt complex has a nice 1 1/2 mile paved trail around the complex) So that shouldn't be an issue, but of course I find excuses.

I'd love to connect with other former "professional procrastinators" to learn secrets to helping.

Wow - sorry for this novel :)

Other Information:
I'm re-reading for the third time a FANTASTIC book called "Secrets of a Former Fat Girl" and the story is so motivating and SO full of humor that it's a huge motivator. Using the "IT'S NOT AN OPTION" from the book is helping with the stalled getting to the gym on a regular basis.

Congrats on getting back on track, that must have taken a lot of inner strength. I really appreciated and could relate to your comments to the lady on EE who couldn't find motivation. Personally i am still in the don't care anymore for the moment, total self indulgence phase, and reading your words does help inspire to get back on the wagon.
Thank you!

Thanks for comment you left on my blog. It is so nice to know that there are other people going through the same thing. Fast food places have some "better for you" choices, you just have to plan ahead. Good luck to you on your journey. emoticon
