My name is Kelsey, I'm 22 years old from Madison, Wisconsin. I was always around 145 my whole life. I started realizing i was losing weight about 2 years ago and some how managed to get down to 115 pounds. I started becoming obsessed with my weight. My name is Kelsey, I'm 22 years old from Madison, Wisconsin. I was always around 145 my whole life. I started realizing i was losing weight about 2 years ago and some how managed to get down to 115 pounds. I started becoming obsessed with my weight. I started exercising a lot and really watching what i was eating. I think it was because i was working 2-3 jobs and just didn't have a lot of time to eat. I was a waitress and i was constatnly moving. Well that has all changed. I turned 21 and of course the alcohol never helps... started gaining some weight back. I would always tell myself well, I'm going to start Monday and start eating healthier. I would lose some weight but just end up gaining it back. I've finally come to realize that it was the diet that i was on. I was doing my own version of the Atkins Diet. But i always told myself and others that this was the diet that worked. It helped me in the past and i kept thinking that. Well 2 years later and no results, I've realized that that is not the diet for me. So now I'm just starting to watch my calories. Try not to limit myself too much and just enjoy this long ride

My Goals:
1. Drink 8 glasses a water a day
2. Do not eat when i'm bored
3. Get 8 hours of sleep
4. Exercise
5. No negative comments ( this is a hard one)

My Program:
Reward myself for every 5 pounds that i lose! Remember that weight loss is a slow process. Don't get discouraged when the scale doesn't budge. Walk or lightly jog 3 times a week 30-45 minutes/ Strength train 2 times a week @ Curves.

Hi! Well, when I first started Sparkpeople, I didn't really record my foods or exercise daily. So, needless to say, I didn't really lose that much weight-maybe around 3 or so pounds. But around January, after Christmas break, I really got into it and started recording everything I ate and I started excercising regularly. I've had days/weeks when I've fallen off my plan, and those have slowed me down a little, but I've pretty much been working on it seriously since January. That makes 2 and a half months or so!

Hey Kelsey. I just read all of your blogs and noticed that you also tried the Atkins Diet.
Yes, I also used the Atkins Diet in the past. It did nothing good for me. I would Lose weight and Gain it back as soon as I had a slice of bread. LOL.

I am new to this site and looking for people to communicate with.

Hello there! Well, your question is a good one. I have actually cut back on the diet soda dramatically, but haven't completely stop drinking it. I managed to not have any for several months, and then needed the boost and started drinking it again. I was drinking a minimum of 12 sodas a day...all day...all night...first thing right out of bed. It was excessive consumption, and I could not function without it. I had headaches often. I have only 1 soda a day now, if I have one. I am also finding that drinking more water is helping me to lose weight. I didn't drink water before, except if I was exercising...and sometimes I had a diet soda in my hand. I did manage to lose countless pounds drinking it, but was stuck at a plateau for quite some time. I cut back on the soda and continued with my healthy eating habits, exercise, and started drinking my 8 glasses of water everyday, and 12 pounds have come off since December. I am happy with those results so far. It's working for me.
