I'm feeding on God's Word this year! Join me...
Ps. 34:7-10 - O taste & see that the Lord our God is good! Blessed is the one who trusts & takes refuge in Him. O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere & worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere & worship Him with godly fear. The young lions lack food & suffer hunger, but they who seek/inquire of & require the Lord by right of their need & on the authority of His Word, none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.
John 6:57 - Just as the living Father sent Me & I live by (thru, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food & is nourished by Me] shall in his turn live thru & because of Me.
Deut. 8:3 - He humbled you by letting you go hungry & then feeding you with manna,... He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Ps. 37:25 - I have been young & now am old, yet have I NOT seen the uncompromisingly righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.
Ez. 16:49 - This was the SIN of your sister Sodom: She & her daughters were arrogant, overfed & unconcerned.
Matt. 5:6 - Blessed are those who hunger & thirst for righteousness, for they shall be completely satisfied!
John 4:34 - Jesus said, My food is to do the will of Him Who sent Me & to accomplish & completely finish His work.
John 6:35 - Jesus said, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry & he who believes in, cleaves to, trusts in & relies on Me will never thirst any more.
Rom. 14:17-20 - The Kingdom of God isn't a matter of what we eat or drink, but of godliness, peace & joy in the Holy Spirit...Don't destroy the work of God for the sake of food.
DISCIPLINE & SELF-CONTROL:
Rom. 12: 1-2 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy & pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Don't conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test & approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing & perfect will.
1 Cor. 9:27 - But like a boxer I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] & subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel & things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit.
Gal. 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ; it's no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me & the life I now live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me & gave Himself up for me.
2 Cor. 10:3-5 - Though we walk in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh & using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical weapons of flesh & blood, but they are mighty before God for the overthrow & destruction of strongholds, inasmuch as we refute arguments, theories, reasonings & every proud & lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; & we lead every thought & purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ.
Gal. 5:16 - Walk & live habitually in the Holy Spirit; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings & desires of the flesh.
Philip. 3:13-14 - ...One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind & straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the supreme & heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
FAITH & THE POWER OF THE TONGUE:
Mark 11:22-25 – Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God constantly. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up & thrown into the sea! & does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust & be confident) that it is granted to you, & you will get it. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him & let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your own failings & shortcomings & let them drop.
Proverbs 18:21 – Death & life are in the power of the tongue & they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it for death or life.
Matthew 12:37 – For by your words you will be justified & acquitted & by your words you will be condemned & sentenced.
Job 22:28 – You shall also decide & decree a thing & it shall be established for you; & the light of God's favor shall shine upon your ways.
James 3:2-5 – We all often stumble, fall & offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character & a perfect man, able to control his whole body & to curb his entire nature. If we set bits in the horses' mouths to make them obey us, we can turn their whole bodies about. Likewise, look at the ships: though they're so great & are driven by rough winds, they're steered by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines. Even so the tongue is a little member & it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze!
Joel 3:10b – Let the weak say I am Strong (a warrior)!
Mark 4:14 – The sower sows the Word.
TEMPTATION: a perverted promise.
Ps. 46:1 - God is our Refuge & Strength [mighty & impenetrable to temptation], a very present & well-proved help in trouble.
Ps. 138:3 - In the day when I called, You answered me & You strengthened me with strength (might & inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self.
Matt. 6:13 - Don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
Mark 14:38 - Keep watch & pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
Luke 8:13 - The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message & receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.
Romans 6:10-12 - When Jesus died, He died once to break the power of sin. But now that He lives, He lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin & alive to God thru Christ Jesus. Don't let sin control the way you live; don't give in to sinful desires.
1 Cor. 10:13 - The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
Gal. 5:13 - You've been called to live in freedom, brethren. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
Heb. 4:15-16 - This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let's come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we'll receive His mercy & find grace to help us when we need it most.
James 1:12 - God blesses those who patiently endure testing & temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
2 Peter 2:9 - The Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

Hi Keetak, Just stopping by to say "Hi." You've been pretty quiet around these parts and I'm hoping everything is going OK with you. How was your year? What's up?'

Yes, I know about the dietary laws in that book. I'm starting in Gen. 1 where the Lord creates seed bearing plants and trees for food, and it is all GOOD. Then in Gen. 3 Satan uses food to tempt man to disobey God. I've gotta do some meditating on the implications.

Hello, my dear. Are you doing OK? I've missed you a bit. I'm thinking of doing a personal Bible study on "Does God care what I eat?" Working my way through His word to see everything related to food, eating, etc. May be daunting, but exciting.
