OK, OK....I know that I knew a lot about what I was supposed to be doing..but somehow I just couldnt' get motivated to put better habits in practice. You know the saying that someimes you have to hit bottom before you are ready to climb your way back up to the top??? Well, I kind of feel like I did that. Thankfully nothting like a heart attack or something of that severe nature...but when you find out at 55 that you are not only overweight (alright, I knew that), but have severe arthritis in ...

You know the saying that someimes you have to hit bottom before you are ready to climb your way back up to the top??? Well, I kind of feel like I did that. Thankfully nothting like a heart attack or something of that severe nature...but when you find out at 55 that you are not only overweight (alright, I knew that), but have severe arthritis in both knees , depression and are pre-diabtetic...it gives you enough of a jolt to realize that if you plan on sticking around for a good long while yet, you had better get your act together. I have boy-gilr twins 19 years old that I want to see well into their adult years and I want to get back to being the active person I once was.

My Goals:
To get back down to a healthy weight and BMI.

To be able to go on long walks again!

To be able to have knee sugery should I need it.

My Program:
I am monitoring my carbs and blood glucose. Eating healthier and in the correct portions has helped me lose over 60 pounds since my doctor read me the riot act!

I am still going to see the good folks in my local orthopedic clinc for my arthritis. I must have just worn out the last of the good cartilage in my knees recently, 'cuz it never used to hurt this much just to walk! Once the pain is under control, I plan on beginning a program of regular walks.

Thanks for the goodie! I'll consider myself warned about the packing! My theory is always that I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! I overpack every time we take a trip, and the next time we go, I do it again! Some people never learn.

I do have a packing list and most of my stuff together. I will defintely way overpack. I know this is the second time that you have told me that I needed to pack only about half of what I thought I needed, but I can't make up my mind about some of the outfits so I'll probably take them all! Our cruise has 2 formal nights and I did get 2 nice formal dresses to wear. One is long, the other short. And I need different shoes for each of them, so that's one more thing! I sure can't wait!
