I just can't quit Sparkpeople

It may have been closer to two years since my last blog post, and a year since I last logged in, but I'm back. Not because I'm trying to lose weight. I can't live my life like that. But because I'm trying to walk enough to walk an 8.3km race in April and I'd like to do it in less than 100 minutes. I know I can walk 8.3km, but can I do it in a timely manner? :) So, I would like to keep an eye on what I'm eating and walking to see if there are areas I can tweak. :) (It's January 27, 2014)

Thanks for your comment on my blog. It is hard to move past the numbers, especially when they aren't doing what we are expecting/hoping/wanting them to do.... And there are other numbers, too, that count.... how many reps I can do, how much weight I can lift, how many inches around my stomach, what my blood pressure is, etc.

Sometimes we have to look beyond the numbers to what they are really telling us, and figure out what really matters and focus on that.
