A New Me!!!

I am Kristie, I am 31 years old and the mother of two special and wonderful children, Carmen and Cody. I am also engaged to Jason. We have been together several years now. After a deep depression and untreated bipolar, I nearly lost my family and myself. My Goals:
*Put myself first once a week.
*Lower my cholesterol so medication is no longer needed.
*Fit into some old clothes and toss out the baggy ones I currently have to wear.
*Reach a healthy BMI level
be someone my children can look up to.
*Be as physically active as I once was without the labored breathing.
*Plan my meals instead of eating on the fly and that usually meant unhealthy "convinience" foods.
*Get my bipolar managed so I don't lose my family.
*Drink more water
*Keep my head together and finish school this time.
*Gain more confidence.
*Stop disappearing from Spark People and starting a whole new account :)
*Get more organized.
*Be proud that I am trying to change my life, instead of hiding it and being ashamed and reminded of past dieting and my failure to stick with them.


My Program:
*Take all my medications and stick with it!
*Stay consistent, even if I hit a brick wall once in a while.
*Not be discouraged when I have a bad day.
*Eat a more balance diet.
*Lots of walking!
*Plenty of strength training followed by stretches.
*20 minutes of cardio to start off 5 days a week.
*Hit the gym once or twice a week.
*Drink more water!

Personal Information:
I have lived all over the country, but I think I have found a permanent home here in Minnesota. I am working at Pier 1 Imports at the moment in the stockroom. I absolutely love it. It is so physical and I burn a ton of calories, hopefully since the holidays are over with, they will keep me around! I am also going back to school in a couple weeks to be a Pharm Tech. I have high hopes that I will succeed.

Other Information:
I enjoy almost any type of craft. I knit, I sew, I crochet, basically anything to keep my hands busy during the cold winter months! I have few close friends but the ones I include in my little world mean everything to me. I am a devoted and loyal person who believes in old world values and morals, so I usually mesh better with people closer to my age or older. I rarely meet a person younger that I can call friends, but I do have a few!
