2014 Plan

A new year - new hopes, dreams and goals.

This year I am going to try and take a chunk of the weight I want to lose and do it portion by portion. I am trying to get healthy as well, so eating stuff that isn't junk is my main priority.

I bought a FitBit Force - and am liking it very much. I have small goals for each month and will post whether or not I've succeeded.

Jan 10-23 I am doing Dr. Oz's Rapid Weight Loss plan. The reason I selected this plan is because I'm supporting my sister, who really needs to lose weight too. And also because it has all healthy foods in it. The lack of coffee and wine is the only thing I'm not so crazy about, but I can do anything for two weeks!!

I lost 6.6 pounds on the Dr. Oz 2 week diet - I am now in a Beta test for a new exercise program. Starting April 21, 2014. It's going for 9 weeks, and has a nutrition program along with the exercise program and looks like a very good program!!

Now it's August - and I'm trying out McDougall plant based eating. I'm not sure I'm cut out for it, so I'm trying it for the month of August and we'll see what happens.

Starting McDougall August 1st.


My Program:
July/August - 10,000 steps a day. Also the 100 push-up program which is a 10 week program.

Other Information:
I am a mom of two boys. One recently graduated from Texas A&M and is currently looking for a job. The other is AF ROTC, working on an Applied Mathematics degree with a Computer Science emphasis, and in the world famous Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, in the Corps of Cadets.

My husband is a retired AF officer working at keeping our country safe with Cyber Intel. He is working on his PhD.

I love to read, quilt, and go to the gym. I am a dermatologist's assistant and love my job. My second job is as a party dealer - I deal craps, roulette, blackjack and Texas Hold'em. I LOVE this job!! It's so much fun.

All together that's 30 pounds and 34 is my first 10% goal so I am getting closer.

Good Morning Karen and TY for commenting on my blog. It's so hard to stay motivated in weight loss. Just the slightest change in program and I lose heart. Looking at this in this way makes me realize that not only do my 4 grown adult children follow my lead even at their ages, but so do their children, my 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren......

A friend once told me that one day I would find the inspiration I would need to spark a flame..... and she was right :)

I was sitting in the motel room feeling sorry for myself this morning, not because I have gained, I didn't bring my scales along so have no clue if I have gained or not, but because of my appearance in what was 5 minutes before I viewed the pictures, a very happy vacation. Then I looked on the computer at the pictures I had downloaded and saw a miserable and very unattractive 52 year old woman staring back at me.
TY for helping to make my day a little sunnier......

158 floors for me today. (There will be a few more, as I have to go up a flight to head to bed. I should also take up the laundry from the basement to have clean clothes tomorrow!) Fitbit says I climbed the Empire State Building. :) I have to break it up in bits of 3 minutes with a minute or two rest inbetween. Climbing stairs is hard! How are you doing?
