My path to a new me!

I am looking to lose at least 87 pounds, hopefully by year's end. I have some health issues that need to be fixed via surgery but my doctor wants me to lose some weight (50 lbs) before surgery.

Feb 2012: -8 lbs, lower sodium, better eating habits (completed 2/28/12: -9 lbs, sodium cut by 1/2)

My Program:
I have really started paying attention to what I eat and how much I eat. I have gone from approx. 3,300 cal/day to roughly 1,600 cal/day and am re-learning portion control all over again.

I have started training to run my 1st 5k. Outpacing Melanoma, May 20, 2012.

Look like we have similar goals and reasons why. I also need to loose 50 pe doctors advice to be able to have surgeries I need. Stick with sparking and you'll do well.

Definately keep some healthy snacks around....and becarful to not drop your calories to low vs how many you burn....if you aren't taking in enough vs how many you burn your body goes into starvation mode and your metabolism slows down which means you don't loose, you can even gain if this happens. I just learned this from fellow sparker's lately myself.

Saw that you nedd support. Hang in there! If its the exercise; start small by doing 10 minute intervals throughout the day. Do it first thing in the morning (that helps too). If its the food; make sure to have healthier snacks around the house on days you feel like binging. Keep in touch, DON'T give up! emoticon emoticon
