I Run Like a GIRL!!

I'm running again!!! I took some much needed time over the holidays to lose weight and prepare for the running season and now I'm hitting the road- and treadmill!
I am trying to ease back into it so as not to aggravate my knee so I'm currently running 3 miles 5 days a week with a slightly longer run on Saturday. I'll up that soon and then be ready to start training for the Seattle Rock n Roll!! I ran my first race since the surgery the first weekend in March and survived :)

I am also biking, going to the gym to lift and use the eliptical as well as practicing yoga. I feel good and hope to continue to gain strength and increase my mileage.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose the flab and tighten up so I can be comfortable running and doing everything else I do in a day. I want to be super commited until I lose the weight and then maintain through the summer for my favorite races.
I would like to try a triathlon this year and continue to prepare for another marathon.

Weight Goal:

130 lbs on my VERY accurate (and mean) digital scale by October 2009.

My Program:
I plan to eat sensibly while having healthy snacks (lots of fresh fruits, veggies, nuts-) and a good dinner. I am currently adding in more protein which has been a very interesting process. I feel so much more full with the protein.
I will be running , using turbo jam, biking, weight training and using pilates & yoga as my crosstraining exercises. I need to drink more water and cut out the ridiclous amount of sweets I tend to stuff in my mouth!

Personal Information:
I'm the wife of an amazing man and the mother of four great kids. I love to run and bike not only because it feels great but because I enjoy the therapy of talking wih my running partner and the laughs that happen when the chicks go for a bike ride... It's all Gordons fault that I flew over my handle bars, I swear!

Hey chickie, check out my blog for some great pictures from our hike to Boulder Falls yesterday. Your brother looks cute, but a little wiped out! We took the parents too and they hiked to the falls and back and then took a nap waiting for us to get back to the car (way over an hour later). M.Aja

Congrats on your success this year so far. You are doing great. February & March have been a struggle but I'm still pushing along. Like you I have stuggled with my food. My struggle is I love it! LOL! But I am working on my portions.
