I'm dat Mom!

I'm so ready to lose this weight. Not that my body or weight was perfect to begin with, but my third baby really screwed up my body! I started SparkPeople in April 2011 and I lost about 10 pounds. We were living in Nebraska and we got the opportunity to move back to Louisiana. We were only there for a year and so happy to move back home. So losing weight was put on hold. Then in June I found out I was pregnant with our fourth child. We told everyone when I was about 7 weeks and then at 8 weeks I miscarried. Although I want a fourth child, the timing wasn't right at all. I tried to come back to SparkPeople, but I wasn't really motivated. And then decided to start homeschooling, so that made me really busy and stressed.

So now I'm back for good and ready to lose this weight! While I was away from SparkPeople, I managed to keep most of the weight off. Except for the past few weeks. I don't know what happened. I was a junk food junkie! I feel really gross and I need to get back to it.

My weight story:
I started to have problems with my weight in my senior year of high school. I had quit basketball and I was only in school for half a day and then I worked at the best pizza buffet restaurant in the world! ;) So I gained weight. I'm not sure what I weighed, but I know I was wearing a size 16 (which probably today would be a 14 I guess). In my junior year of college I was at my highest weight of 197. I started going to the gym every morning and worked out. At the end of the fall semester, I weighed 165. Not bad. But I stopped working out as much after the winter break. I didn't gain too much back right away. At the end of my senior year, two weeks before I graduate I got married (2003), so we stayed home more. Then I graduated. So all of the sudden I wasn't very active. I had gotten back up to 185, lost five pounds and then I found out I was pregant. It took me a while to lose the weight after my daughter was born, but eventually I got back down to about 180 when she was about a year (2005). Not perfect but better that what I was. Then I quit work to stay home and then two days later Katrina hit. We were stuck in Pensacola for a week, with a lot of stress and a lot of junk food! If I remember correctly I had gained 15 pounds in two weeks. I don't remember if I ever really lost the weight, but in 2006 I found out I was pregnant with my second daughter. After she was born it was pretty easy to lose the weight. Not perfect, but better. And then the weight just started to creep on. At the end of 2007 I found out I was pregant with my son and after he was born, the weight just stuck. I found myself at my heaviest at about 203.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose about 35 pounds by around August. That's doable right?

*I want to lose the first 10 pounds by March 3rd before my husband and I go to a homeschool convention. (Didn't make it. Oh well)

I want to lose another 10 lbs (20 total) by my daughter's 7 birthday, May 14.

My Program:
Right now I'm just doing my own thing. Just watching what I eat and making small changes here and there.

Personal Information:
I'm from the New Orleans area. My husband and I have been married for 7 years. We have three children. Two girls (6 & 4) and one boy (2).

Hey! Thanks for the pop-by on my page! Eesh - just so you know, I've been sparking coming up on 3 years on Feb 7th!! and the weightloss has been in incremental stages - a little more each year.

I'm terribly uncoordinated too! I like doing videos at home because then only the people who are used to me tripping over my own toes see it!! My kids are in love with Netflix streaming. We haven't had broadcast t.v. for more than a year and they think it is magic!! I like the option of doing workout videos, the selection is not HUGE, but enough to keep me from getting bored for awhile. Hope you have a great rest of the week!!

Thanks so much for the orchids! I have to admit I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to the rewards thing. I make sure to get as many points a day by reading articles, etc. Plus I bought the book which adds tons of points (I think it's added over 1000 points so far). My youngest is also older than yours so I have more time to waste on the computer! emoticon
