I defy traditional labels. Socially liberal, morally conservative, can't figure out how people can be cruel to one another. I love to get to know people who are not just like me. I'm a natural optimist, but sometimes get dragged down by a gene pool that tends toward depression. I wish the sun would shine all the time. I love OTHER PEOPLE'S dogs, but would say I'm a cat person. Big into sports, particularly soccer, track/cross country, football, college basketball and any Olympic event except boxing and such. It is difficult for me to go a day without some Junior Mints. I wish I were a better evangelist.

My Goals:
I will be strong and fit enough to say YES to any physical activity I'm asked to participate in. Biking to MIL's house 50 miles away - YES! Running sprints with my soccer daughter- YES! Kayaking up the river to the next town - YES! Carrying 35 lbs of cat litter into the house - YES!

I will say NO only if I want to, not because I'm unable.

My Program:
Eat food for fuel. Expand my repertoire of healthy foods.

Exercise daily and vary activities - HIIT, running, walking, weights, kayaking, elliptical, yoga, pilates, WATP. I'm taking suggestions!

Make time for relaxation. Get 7-8 hours of sleep. Read something for fun every day.

Personal Information:
Live in NE Wisconsin which means cold winters and hot summers.

Married 27 years in 2015, and have two grown children.

Love to be active. Becoming more diligent about food choices so the 50s flabbies don't set in.

Having a heckuva time keeping those Junior Mints out of my mouth. They are my worst temptation.

    You're not the first to comment on how the weight loss has changed more than my size. It's funny how we can feel so terrible at a certain weight when the scale has recently crept up to it, but feel so wonderful when we've worked our way down to it! The same weight but a totally different affect on how we feel about it and ourselves!

    Hi! My new class yesterday was "Healthy Hips and Shoulders". The teacher is a very popular teacher at our local senior centers. I've been hearing about her for awhile and this is my first time taking one of her classes. I need it because I've had shoulder issues from exercise during the last year or two.

    I saw on one of the message board forums that you are 72 days away from a 1,000 day exercise streak... That is so crazy and inspiring!! I'm mentally struggling to get myself to do it a few times a week and then I read that and it really helped me realize that it is possible to truly incorporate this into your lifestyle. That is so impressive. Congratulations and I wish you luck on your remaining 72 days (and the rest of your journey)!
