1/1/2013 Well, here we are at the beginning of a new year. I am beginning with the usual promise to lose weight, but am also adding a few other things. I have considerably lowered my existing bills, so I am pledging to be debt free by summer. I am opening a savings account and having a portion of my check directly deposited so I can start saving some much needed improvements, such as home improvements, vacations, odds and ends, etc. I have already been making the necessary changes of eating ...
I have already been making the necessary changes of eating healthier and making better choices. I am starting another virtual walk, this time I'm headed for Las Vegas, and aside from a minor setback with my treadmill, I aim to start logging many, many miles to reach my destination. This is going to be a good year!

1/1/2011 I know it seems redundant be here we are another New Year and another new start at losing weight. Each year is getting a little better in the sense that, even though I am putting some weight on, I'm getting to where I have to lose less each year. For example, last year I needed to lose 25+ pounds. This year, I need to lose 15 and continue keeping it off. I'm really hoping that this will be my year!

9/5/2010 Okay, so I was away for a while but came back about a month ago. Since then, I have lost about 20 of the 25-30 pounds I have been trying to not only lose but keep off. I have started my own spark team as well as co-leading 3 others. I have found it a way to help keep myself focused. It seems to be working because my clothes are fitting very differently, much to my excitement! Here's hoping I can keep it going!

1/1/2010 Another year, another new beginning. This is the first day of a new starting point for me. I am again back at an uncomfortable weight. I can make all the excuses in the world, but it doesn't change the fact that I am still unhappy with my appearance. I have a new support group in place and I have my mind set. This will be the year for a change that is very much needed. I know I have many of you that will help support too. I'm going to do this! WE'RE going to do this. Good luck to us. Let's have an awesome year!

1/23/2009 Well, here I am less than one month into the new year and I'm already down 10 pounds and 11 inches! I'm almost back to the halfway point and I feel great!! SparkPeople has helped me soooo much! I can't wait until it gets warm out so I can start really walking again. That will help me reach my goal too. Again, I can't thank everyone enough for being so supportive. Having others, who are going through the same struggles, be so encouraging has made my journey so much easier to bear.

12/30/2008 After a tumultuous year, which led to me gaining my weight back and forced me to deal with some very difficult personal issues, I am happy to say that I plan to start the new year off with a bang! My goal is to lose the weight that I recently gained and get down to my "ideal" weight by summer! I'm GOING to do it! I have done it before and now that things are getting better, I am going to get better too!.

8/31/2008 Well, it's well over a month now and I'm still going strong! I'm down 13 pounds and feeling so much better. I have more energy to spend on my grandson and it feels great! He's only 3 months old but I'm sure to be chasing him soon! With the healthy lifestyle I am now adapting, I'm certain I'll be able to keep up with him and lead a healthier life.

8/18/2008 A month into the program now, I'm officially down 12 pounds and 9 inches! I'm 1/2 pound from being half way to my goal. I've been working hard, but a lot of the credit goes to all of you who have been kind enough to keep checking on me and keeping me motivated. As you know, it can be hard to stick with this whole weight loss thing, especially if you don't see immediate results. So many of you have really pushed me to keep going and stay on track. Thank you so much to everyone for your support!

8/4/2008 My first week with this program has left me 4 inches smaller and 6 pounds lighter!! Who knew you weren't supposed to eat the same amount of calories per day as a small baby elephant! Seriously though, having the support of so many people sharing the same goal is truly an amazing gift. The tools available are helping me learn to take control of my weight AND my life! I really feel blessed to have found this site where so many goals are being accomplished on a daily basis! With so many people to offer support, I'm not only sure that I'll reach my goal, but be able to make everlasting changes for the better. Thanks in advance, to everyone for their love and support and for helping make a difference in my life. You are all truly appreciated!

7/24/2008 I used to be the "ideal" weight for my height. Somehow, as I've gotten older, it has gotten harder, not only to take it off, but to keep it off. Even though my family says I'm not fat, I just don't have the confidence I had before. My goal is to get that back and look great for the holidays!

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 25-30 pounds. Since I really enjoy walking, I'm hoping that will help me achieve my goal.

My Program:
Being a fairly new diabetic, I need to seriously take charge of watching what I eat. I'm going to do just that! I walk as much as I possibly can. Exercise every other day (crunches, stretches, etc.)

Personal Information:
Where are you from? I am from Eastpointe, Michigan. I have 3 children and a new grandson. I am registered and certified as a medical assistant and I work for a home care company.

Other Information:
Walking is a passion of mine. I do it as much as possible. I am also addicted to researching my family tree, playing Texas Hold-Em, Sudoku, and just spending time with the kids and my grandson!

There is such freedom being debt free, I personally know from experience - most of my adult life I was in debt - finally it is all paid off and for the last four years what a difference. I have money in the bank and I have traveled further than I ever thought possible on this globe.
