Be Healthy and Happy Me
Just like many of you, I had tried to lose weight many times. It went well sometimes and didn't go so well other times. After encountering a health problem in 2009, I promised to myself to be healthier AND THEN lose weight. So far, my progress is good; I lost more than ten pounds and feel stronger. Now I get more ambitious. I am aiming to reach 50 kg and have flat stomach! ~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ When I married to my husband, I moved to ...
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ When I married to my husband, I moved to the U.S. from Japan. At that time, I was around 114 pounds, which was not really considered as light weight but healthy-chubby-weight with my height of 5'2". Since then, I gradually gained my weight. What had happened was life style change. I had to go places by a car, not by walking. All menu at restaurants was served in huge portion. Even muffins, cookies, and pastries were huge! Healthier quick meals were not sold at stores. Clothes sold at stores were even big too. To me, my surrounding was sending me a message, "it's okay to eat more, and get bigger. You are too small." Than is about ten years ago. Then guess what? I was at my heaviest weight, above 130 pounds, in 2009. And thyroid nodule happened. I had a surgery to remove my half thyroid. My thyroid function had no problem before and after surgery according to my doctor, but I gained six pounds in two days while I was at a hospital. In two days, I only had three liquid meals and a half portion of normal meal, yet I gained six pounds! It really scared me. I was also told that the removed thyroid actually had cancer cells. The type of thyroid cancer I had have very good prognosis and all cells are removed, so supposedly, I don't need to worry about it. However, this episode was my wake up call. I want to be healthy and age well. I want to be look pretty and strong. I want to wear pretty clothes and feel beautiful instead of paying lots of money to doctors and insurance and feeling weak and sick. And only I can make it happen!! After thyroid surgery in December 2009, I put workout on my priority. I started following workout plan of The FIRM TransFIRMation from March 2010. I made conscious effort to make healthier food choice and control a meal portion. When our TV broke(!), I bought portable DVD player to do my workout. It actually helped me well during relocation from Florida to Texas. My heaviest, right after the surgery, was 136 pounds in December 2009, and I finally reached 120 pounds in June 2010. The number doesn't go down well lately as easily as it was before, but I don't worry much. Even my weight doesn't change, my body is definitely getting healthier and stronger!!

My Goals:
Be able to wear my favorite Betsey Johnson's dress comfortably (without sucking my stomach hard) and sit on a couch comfortably. Reach to 115 pounds by the end of 2010. Eat more protein rich food! Have protein for 1/4 of my daily calories intake. Eat more "natural" fiber, fruits, and vegetables. Drink more water, at least 5 glasses a day!
My Program:
I love my FIRM system! I bought TransFIRMation system with 4dvd in 2009, and it has been working great. I was planning to get TransFIRMer, but there had been too much troubles too many times. I gave it up for now. I added several good DVDs, so I can have new exciting routine anyway! My workout plan... The FIRM dvd: 5/6 days a week. Winsor's pilates dvd: 2-5 days a week. 30-min Elliptical: 5-7 days a week. *My school schedule is very tight in Sep & Oct, so I at least do 5-6 FIRM dvd a week and may skip pilates and elliptical.
