After 4 years, suppose I should update my introduction text. Here goes.... I'm a fat guy and I'm addicted to cyclocross. I have two amazing kids, an ex wife, and small apartment that I share with a few bikes: Frau Blucher (her frame is glued together), Blue Steel (her frame is cheap aluminum and is painted green, but she swears she's made from fine Italian steel. Why she thinks she's blue is anyone's guess), Sybil (I race 'cross and road on her), and Baby Stewie (my mtb--he is out ...
After 4 years, suppose I should update my introduction text. Here goes.... I'm a fat guy and I'm addicted to cyclocross. I have two amazing kids, an ex wife, and small apartment that I share with a few bikes: Frau Blucher (her frame is glued together), Blue Steel (her frame is cheap aluminum and is painted green, but she swears she's made from fine Italian steel. Why she thinks she's blue is anyone's guess), Sybil (I race 'cross and road on her), and Baby Stewie (my mtb--he is out for world domination and tries to kill me on a regular basis. He also calls me Lois.) I also have my son's road bike and my daughter's hybrid. Eve (my tandem) lives in my father's basement, along with my son's old mtb. My goals are to quit being fat and to not suck so bad at 'cross. One will lead to the other. To quit being fat, I have to resume eating like I did pre divorce and start exercising like I did then. The exercising part has been a breeze. I love to ride, I love to run. I love to race. Last year, in addition to cx, I did a half marathon, some 10ks, and a couple adventure races. This year, as my training and nutrition begin to work together, I will repeat last year's events and add some duathlons and (hopefully) some mtb races. It should be fun.
