A New Me

When I started spark in January one of my goals was to make a lifestyle change so that there is no more "dieting". I also wanted to be a positive role model for my girls. I have accomplished both of these and need to continue. I started to run in the middle of March and I have set a goal to run a half marathon at the end of September. I am close to that goal and I am halfway to my goal weight. I have my daughters eating more fruits and vegetables (because that is what is handy to grab) ...

They also notice how much more active I am and know that I need my me time to get my running done in the mornings.

Personal Information:
I live in the country in Illinois close to the Quad Cities. I like to take my runs on the country roads by my house or on the bike path by the Mississippi River.

You can literally start way out west at Sunset Marina west of Rock Island and run continuously all the way past Hampton. You may have to hit up some sidewalks but the majority is bike path.

Pam, Jim and I always park at Celebration Belle and run to the east towards east Moline and Hampton. From the Belle to downtown Hampton is 7 miles one way and it goes even further than that! Then you could start at the Belle and head west which we have never done. We love it so much and always feel safe although I usually run at the path just when Jim is with me. You should totally give it a try sometime!

We leave Wednesday at 12:30pm from MOline via Atlanta and arrive in Orlando at 6:30pm. We come home EARLY Tuesday morning from Orlando to Chicago and actually arrive in Cedar Rapids. Jim will be working in our Cedar Rapids office and will pick us up and bring us home. We saved about $200 doing that.
