Hi, I'm Kate. I think I've always been on the heavier side, although when I look at myself in pictures from high school now, I think "look how skinny I am!" But still I was bigger than my friends. I've pretty much been in the 200s since the century began, except for a short period of time in 2002 (my first foray into Weight Watchers) when I lost 50 pounds and got down to 180.

My Goals:
I want to feel comfortable in my own skin. I want to stop and look at myself in store windows, not rush by. I want to do a 5K (I definitely could walk one now but I'd like to "run" one).

In my personal life, I want a healthy relationship. I want to be the most important person in the world to someone.

Personal Information:
I live in Pittsburgh but am originally from New York State. I have a bunch of cats but am *not* a crazy cat lady. Swear.

Other Information:
I read a lot. I like brainless TV -- like Bravo brainless. I like to cook, and to travel. I went to Sweden four years ago, and to Ireland, Scotland, and England last year. I want to do more travel in the US and abroad as well.

Hi Katy, I saw your comment on how remodeling the kitchen made you lose focus. The exact same thing happened to me when my bathroom was remodeled in April and I am still finding my place again. Routines are so important, aren't they? But so is adaptability. There is nothing for it but to begin, and once begun, to persist.
I've kind of enjoyed revisiting my routines. I used to feel I had to exercise for 90 minutes a session, but now I have eased up to just 60 minutes. I find that manageable and enjoyable, and if I want to spend longer, I do.
I haven't picked up my regular three weekly Zumba sessions yet, one is all I can afford. And I am exercising a bit less frequently, so all in all I am doing five instead of 7-9 hours a week. But that will change as I go along.
Hope you are establishing the new routines that suit you.
