Getting ready for 2015!

Working on my digestive health at the moment!

I have IBS with a fructose malabsorption. I eat a very restricted diet, but I'm focusing on eating whole foods, avoiding processed items and cooking delicious foods.

I aim to keep my fiber high, my carbs low (not Atkins low) and everything else somewhere in between.

GW - 145

Brief background:
I had my growth spurt early, and was always bigger than most of my friends. Big boned girls don't have it easy, and good eating habits were not part of my life. But for the most part, high school wasn't too bad. I was probably in the 140s. College was bad, because I didn't know how to cook and the food started sticking more. I was up and down the scale varying from 140s to 160s. @age 20 I was about 165, then slimmed down. Lowest as adult was probably 148 @ 21 or 22.

In my late 20s cooking was still not my forte and snacks my indulgence. I wasn't paying any attention at all to my eating and I got up to 178 @ end of 2009. I was ready to get serious about starting the better eating habits. I knew I couldn't quit cold turkey, so I slowly incorporated healthier habits into my life, and some of the unhealthy stuff is slipping away unnoticed. And it's ok!

I'm on the journey.
