Taking back my life

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...moderation not deprivation.

I started my journey back in March 2012 weighing in at 290+ pounds. I decided that diets don't work and scales were not my friend. I took on the mentality of eat this not that (not the book) and just started to make healthier eating choices. I followed the food pyramid and began writing down everything I ate, watching portions and ate 5-6 small meals a day. Walking at first was horrible as I was so out of shape ...

Walking at first was horrible as I was so out of shape but I kept at it and increased my speed and distance every 2-3 weeks. After about a month I bought the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Program and never in my wildest dreams would imagine I could do what I can today. It is now the end of September and I am down 80 pounds and going strong. I continue to eat only clean healthy food and exercise everyday. I look forward to sharing my progress.

"Whatever you want in life, start today.
Not tomorrow - today.
Let it be a small beginning - a tiny beginning.
Your happiness depends on starting today - every day."

LESSONS FROM A SNOWMAN

It's okay if you're a little bottom heavy.
Hold your ground, even when the heat is on.
Wearing white is always appropriate.
Winter is the best of the four seasons.
It takes a few extra rolls to make a good midsection.
There's nothing better than a foul weather friend.
The key to life is to be a jolly, happy soul.
It's not the size of the carrot, but the placement that counts.
We're all made up of mostly water.
You know you've made it when they write a song about you.
Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize!
Avoid yellow snow.
Don't get too much sun.
It's embarrassing when you can't look down and see your feet.
It's fun to hang out in your front yard.
There's no stopping you once you're on a roll.

"Time always moves forward whether you move forward or not. Your most effective strategy is to make use of each moment as soon as it arrives.
There's no end to what you can accomplish if you'll just go ahead and get going. Now is what you have, so make now your time to begin."
-- Ralph Marston

"You can do what you want to do, accomplish what you want to accomplish, attain any reasonable objective you may have in mind - not all of a sudden, perhaps not in one swift and sweeping act of achievement - but you can do it gradually, day by day and play by play, if you want to do it, if you work to do it, over a sufficiently long period of time."

There was once a great czar in Russia named Rudolph the Red.
He stood looking out the windows of is palace one day while his
wife, the Czarina Katerina, sat nearby knitting. He turned to her
and said, "Look my dear, it has begun to rain!" Without even
looking up from her knitting she replied, "It's too cold to rain. It
must be sleeting." The Czar shook his head and said, "I am the
Czar of all the Russias, and Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!"

“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past.
But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.”

I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be,
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.

I made it some pajamas,
And a pillow for its head,
Then last night it ran away,
But first - it wet the bed!
