One Day at a Time

I was re-reading my intro today and realized that this is not who I am today.
I am STILL over 100lbs over weight.
I am committing to my "last attempt" because I don't plan to ever have to make this decision again. This is my last Day 1.
I am not thinking about surgery right now,
I realize that I need to get healthy first in my mind and spirit.
I need to deal with my compulsive behaviors that got me to this point.
I need to surrender to a Power Greater ...

August 2012
Last Attempt At Weight Loss Before Resorting to Bariatric Surgery:
I am over 100lbs over weight. I am 37 years old, recently married, and trying to get healthy. I have consulted with a Bariatric Surgeon and have started the pre-surgery process which takes several months. My daughter is a teenager and for the first time in her life she is struggling with weight issues. I don't want to see her go down the same road I have gone down. She and I are both committed to losing weight and getting healthy. I am putting the surgery plan on hold and am really focusing on healthy diet and exercise. This time I feel like I have to be the example for my daughter. While I feel the same familiar fear of failure, I have additional motivation to succeed this time around. I want to make positive changes that will last for the rest of our lives.

You are so courageous to read through all those articles! After that terrible one I don't dare to look again! Would it maybe save time for you if you posted a new thread asking for useful articles, links and books?

Thank you for the friend add and commenting on my kitty picture. The grey kitty in the picture, Braveheart, died last fall at age 16. He was a big time love bug and always cuddling with his feline buddies or us.

Thanks for your comment on my page of the tree photo. I'm glad you liked it. I also think it's beautiful. I noticed on your page you have thought of bariatric surgery. I actually had a Sleeve Gastrectomy in December. For me, it was the best decision I've ever made. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'm happy to answer any questions about my journey.

Good Luck with your weight loss.

Welcome to the Pet Lovers team. We're glad to have you. I know how you feel about your furbabies. Mine are my children, family. We are so attached to them. I treat them like people. Talk to them like people. You're right , some people don't understand the connection with pets. Welcome again!!!

Thanks for the friend add! I just responded to your comment about that article. I must be honest: I think it's a dumb article! Don't take it to heart! It is NOT about 'self control'! Hang in there...! emoticon
