Choose to Lose

I am 64 years old and have struggled with 10 to 30 pounds since I was in high school. It has been with me most of my life. My dream has been to figure out the formula to have balance in my life and to be able to eat healthy, exercise and not stress about the additional baggage. I am glad that I work on it. If I didn't, where would I be? I love The Spark. I have become more active with the site since I retired last year and have more time to enjoy and learn from it.

Eat breakfast

Try to eat only planned snacks.

Choose healthy meals when eating out.

Only planned snack after evening meal.

60 minutes of walking or exercise.

Track nutrition and exercise.

Personal Information:
Born and Raised in Mexico. Bilingual from childhood. Lived in Central America for 2 years and Chile for 2 years. Have been on some kind of diet from longer than I can remember. Have reached a healthy goal weight at least 4 or 5 times. I am now trying to reach my goal again and then just learn better habits to keep it off. The Spark is a fantastic tool...

Other Information:
 Retired this past year. Looking forward to traveling, working part time, discovering more hobbies. I enjoy dining, going to the movies, reading, watching some TV, vegetable gardening.

Hi Katie. Just wanted to see what you've been up to lately. Have you been well? How are things with your sister?

We have been paining around - and on - our house this past weekend. What a job, but it looks great and I'm so glad that's done. Did a few touch-ups inside like painting the window seat and I've noticed a few places on the walls that need a dab of paint but that will have to wait a while. Trying to get things fixed up to sell next year, if all goes well. We'll see. Anyway, I've been thinking of you and thought I'd stop by and visit a minute.

Take care of yourself and I hope that you're enjoying the beginnings of fall as it's cooling down here anyway! Love the colors of fall, just don't like that winter follows!! LOL

Welcome BAAAAAACK. Congratulations on a fantastic trip. . those pounds will melt off.
I was making too many trips myself - to the kitchen. I gained back some weight, but have now lost it.

WOW!!! A river trip in Europe sounds so very exciting; I am soooooo envious. I am glad that you got to go and had a good time. I'll bet that you got some great pictures along the way. Our youngest niece has been to Europe twice and traveled through there extensively - she brought back the most amazing pictures I have ever seen. And then when she married back in May, they went to Scotland on their honeymoon! What an opportunity. If you feel like it at all, blog and tell us about your trip. I would love to hear what adventures that you had. So glad that you're safely back home again and for that kind of trip...the five pounds were worth it. You'll lose them fast now that you're back home! So good to hear from you again.
