Living healthier a day at a time!

I am so tired of being overweight, getting discouraged and giving up again and again! This time I''m going to stick to it and reach a point where I''ve changed my lifestyle. I live in SW Florida, so I have no reason not to get outside and just walk! But I can find a dozen reasons to do something else. My goal is to change that thinking! I am so tired of being overweight, getting discouraged and giving up again and again! This time I''m going to stick to it and reach a point where I''ve changed my lifestyle. I live in SW Florida, so I have no reason not to get outside and just walk! But I can find a dozen reasons to do something else. My goal is to change that thinking! New update: 1/24/11 OK, this time I''m serious! Our son is getting married October 29th and I want to be proud of myself in the pictures! New update: 10/20/14 Well, life is certainly a roller coaster but I''m finally feeling good about myself. I started serious line dancing in December and take lessons about 7-8 hours per week. I also do zumba 2-3 times a week. I wear a Fitbit monitor every day and my goal is 9000 steps/day. In June I accepted the fact that I''m addicted to sugar and processed foods. I eat basically fruit, vegetables and meat. I allow myself a slice of Ezekial bread each day. So far, I''ve lost 25 pounds. I snack on nuts. Pretty simple but so far, pretty effective!

My Goals:
To reach 145 pounds by 1/1/15


My Program:
I hate to exercise but I've found that I like the different options I have on Wii, so I'm devoting at least 1 hour/day at least 5 days a week. I do Wii Fit Plus, Zumba, Walk it Out, or Dance Dance Revolution.
I have discovered a love of country line dancing and take lessons 8-9 hours per week. Beginning in January 2015, I am going to start practicing for competition in June 2015

Personal Information:
I have lived in SW Florida since Christmas of 1994. I am currently a Realtor and love it! I was born in Easton MD, but also lived in Bozman MD; Wilmington DE and Dover DE. I lived in the Chicago area from 1972-1976; moving to White Plains NY in 1976.

Hi. Thank you so much for commenting on my page. It's difficult when you want something so badly, but can't seem to realize your dream. I'm going to keep plugging away at this, but I feel strongly that I will be canceling my WW membership and focusing soley on the tools offered by Sparkpeople! Thanks again for reaching out. Good luck to you on your weight loss before your son's wedding. I, too, have my daughter's wedding in July and really, really, want to have my weight down by then. I've been one week on SP and so far have lost 3 pounds. Do you weigh weekly? I see you've lost 5 pounds. Good for you!! Baby steps and one day at a time. Such trite but true statements. Kate,
I know how you feel about regaining weight after working so hard to lose it. I guess the best we can do is make small changes and try to stick with it. I too have lost weight only to see it come all back after I slipped off my plan.
Here's to making small changes that we can live with for the rest of our lives...and if we slip up and fall off our diets (or ways that we are supposed to be living) that we are able to start again without guilt.
Enjoy today and do the best you can.

Yesterdays article on Emotional eating was a great article.. You might read it... It had some great ideas...... Stick to it... use the Calorie counter... drink lots of water emoticon
