Really going to do it this time!

I am so tired of being overweight, getting discouraged and giving up again and again! This time I'm going to stick to it and reach a point where I've changed my lifestyle.

I live in SW Florida, so I have no reason not to get outside and just walk! But I can find a dozen reasons to do something else. My goal is to change that thinking!

Hello Katetack...

I had the same motivation to lose weight as you. My son's wedding --and I wanted to make a nice appearance. AND my friend had loaned be a gorgeous dress that was a full size too small. Well, that was a couple years ago. I got into that dress, just barely. -- Because I have not been careful about diet, I am sad to say that I must renew my goal to lose weight --again!
Good luck to you--and best wishes to your son and his bride!

PS... My maidenname was TACK... It is very unusual, and not one in my family has a son to carry it on.

Hi. Thank you so much for commenting on my page. It's difficult when you want something so badly, but can't seem to realize your dream. I'm going to keep plugging away at this, but I feel strongly that I will be canceling my WW membership and focusing soley on the tools offered by Sparkpeople! Thanks again for reaching out. It means a lot!

Katetack,

Good luck to you on your weight loss before your son's wedding. I, too, have my daughter's wedding in July and really, really, want to have my weight down by then. I've been one week on SP and so far have lost 3 pounds. Do you weigh weekly? I see you've lost 5 pounds. Good for you!! Baby steps and one day at a time. Such trite but true statements. Good luck to you!!

Kate,
I know how you feel about regaining weight after working so hard to lose it. I guess the best we can do is make small changes and try to stick with it. I too have lost weight only to see it come all back after I slipped off my plan.
Here's to making small changes that we can live with for the rest of our lives...and if we slip up and fall off our diets (or ways that we are supposed to be living) that we are able to start again without guilt.
Enjoy today and do the best you can.
Susan emoticon
