Hi Kate,

I understand your situation. I have been a public safety dispatcher for 19 years and the first three years I gained 50 pounds. I read an article calling it the dispatcher dozen so I beat that. I have worked at taking some of it off, gaining some back, yo yoing since then.
I worked a swing shift briefly at my current agency, swinging from PM's to nights. It reeked havoc on my body. Fortunately I am now on straight PM's and hopefully will be until I retire.
Hang in there, you can make a lot of progress using this site. There is a LOT of information and support. I bought the SparkPeople cookbook and it is great. It had a lot of recipes that I can take to work for my lunch.
