Hello! My name is Katelyn and I am a 22 year old college student in the rainy state of Washington. I started on SparkPeople originally on March 31, 2010 at the weight of ~173-178. Hello! My name is Katelyn and I am a 22 year old college student in the rainy state of Washington. I started on SparkPeople originally on March 31, 2010 at the weight of ~173-178. I did it for a month (or maybe longer, not sure) and got down to 165! The stress of finals plus the beginning of summer somehow made me stop the process, unfortunately. Near about November, 2011, I had gotten down to about 155! However, the darn holiday break got me back up to about 163, and I still struggling to get back down. Eventually I'd love to be around 130.

I do love a lot of kinds of exercise (zumba, kickboxing, step aerobics, etc.), but where I struggle the most is with food. I find myself often craving carbs, junk food, and sweets. However, I also love a lot of healthy foods and the way I feel what I eat them. So my biggest struggle is overcoming my cravings, and making myself eat more consciously. I'm struggling to keep the mindset that this is a lifestyle change, not a diet. I CAN eat whatever I want, it's about CHOOSING to eat what is best for my body.

-Exercise 3-4 days a week (burning about 1,600 calories)

- Eating more fruits & veggies every day (~5 servings)

Hey! I saw a link to your blog from the SP College Girls' team... You could just as well be describing my life right now!! I'm a college student too, trying to live healthier... It's hard to get healthy in college, right?? I've been on SP for a little while now and I totally agree with you - blogging is such a useful tool!!
