Katastrophic Living
All my life I've struggled with my weight. When I had my third child I decided that it was time to lose the fat for good. At the end of 1998 I joined a gym, I began to eat right and I managed to lose a lot of weight. Then, a year later, my world crashed. All my life I've struggled with my weight. When I had my third child I decided that it was time to lose the fat for good. At the end of 1998 I joined a gym, I began to eat right and I managed to lose a lot of weight. Then, a year later, my world crashed. My youngest son was diagnosed with a severe disability that left me running around to doctor and therapist appointments. I was at the hospital about three times a week, visiting with various specialists, doctors, getting tests done and meeting with the therapists. At that point I stopped worrying about my workouts, I stopped cooking and forgot about stepping onto the scale. I began to grab fast food on the way home from my many appointments. So imagine my surprise one day when I stepped back onto that scale and realized that I'd not only put all my weight back on, but I surpassed it and now weighed 200 lbs. I was shocked, I was devastated. Long ago I'd only started looking at my reflection in the mirror from the shoulders up, since that was my best area but now I looked again and noticed the double, nay, triple chin looking back at me. My puffy cheeks, the dark circles under my eyes and I finally stepped back and took in the behemoth buttocks, the ever expanding waist line and my thunder thighs. It's been many years since that realization happened in 2007. I try not to be discouraged by the fact that I have put more weight on since then to come to the grand total of 230 lbs. Now I'm back on track and the only thing stopping me from losing this weight and becoming a fitter and healthier me, is me.
