Being healthy is more important than being thin.

I am a single mom of a wonderful little boy who keeps me very busy. I have done well with this program before but when my marriage went sour I gave up dieting. I'm here--with new reasons--to try it again.

My biggest challenges are emotional eating and social eating. I often find reasons to justify eating something I shouldn't--like an extra piece of cake because someone I dealt with that day was extra crabby. Talk about self defeating! The other issue I struggle with is ...

My biggest challenges are emotional eating and social eating. I often find reasons to justify eating something I shouldn't--like an extra piece of cake because someone I dealt with that day was extra crabby. Talk about self defeating! The other issue I struggle with is wanting to eat because other people are eating. This used to be a much bigger issue for me, and I have gotten it better under control by saying out loud, "Oh, no thanks, I already ate." (Which was always the case when someone would offer to buy lunch somewhere-but I'm so hooked on eating when others eat, that I would pretend I hadn't eaten.

Other challenges include being next to broke most of the time. I also have a very small support circle--like no one at all. I actually find that I am great at supporting others, but get little in return, though I am not sure if this is because I don't ask for help, or if no one wants to offer any.

I have time to work out--at 5 am. And if my little one has woken me up during the night, it isn't always my favorite time to work out. But I am beating my resistance.

Just writing this tonight helped me figure out some things. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. :) 5/30/13

My Goals:
Break the cycle of emotional eating.
Be able to run a mile.
Find a pair of jeans that fit my bottom and my waist!
Feel comfortable at the pool.

My Program:
I sort of mix in the old old WW system with Spark. At least half the meal plans work okay (not a huge onion or balsamic fan, so I just swap those ones out!) Plus exercise...as often as possible.

Personal Information:
I'm from Redlands, CA and grew up in the little town just up the road called Mentone.

Other Information:
Give up the notion that things shouldn't be that way--they are that way!!
-----------------------------
When things go wrong, don't go with them.
-----------------------------
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I stumbled across you page and just wanted to say hi! I also wanted to let you know that even if you don't have a support team at home you have one here on SP. But it sounds like you little man is going to be one of your biggest supporters.
If you would like I would be willing to help support you. I too need all the support I can get. It's hard being a single mom, working and then trying to get healthy not only for you but for you child.
So I'm here if you would like that extra support. emoticon emoticon

Thank you for the sweet comment you posted. I like you went through a divorce and I am a single mother as well! I have been doing 5:30am bootcamps and this morning believe me I did not want to get up!!! But if I don't do it in the morning or on my lunch hour I have no time in the evening! Keep up the good work! I know you will get there....
